    I have a previously purchased tabletop fill of yours which is perfect. The file holders rest directly on the sides of the file. This model has a curved wire on which the holders sit, and a space front and back where wire descends into the file leaving a space front and back into which holders slide and close, becoming useless.

          The black mesh containers that are part of this set are a nice choice for boys or men rather than woven baskets. My grandsons use them to sort school supplies and projects. My husband uses it to keep desk top folders and binders in a neat and accessible arrangement. I use them for my quilting rulers and books. The wire mesh is strong enough to support a full load of paper. Convenient handles are built into the end panels and do not require additional storage space. A good choice for multiple storage problems. We will buy more.

            we use it for hanging files in a constantly accessed cupboard. the files are accessed frequently throughout the day/week, and we want them easy to grab. It is narrow enough to fit in our narrow cubby/cupboard, but still mannages to hold a dozen fairly full files. Very sturdy!

                It all depends on how full you make them! I recommend this as a tool to sort mail the moment it comes into the house, rather than cluttering up the first flat surface one encounters. I recommend nine files: BILLS, PHONE CALLS TO MAKE, TO BE FILED (in a permanent file), TO READ TIME SENSITIVE, HUSBAND'S NAME, CHILD'S NAME (make them responsible for the mail which comes for them), UPCOMING EVENTS (where else do you put tickets 3 months before a performance?); SHOPPING (pages from a catalogue); and TO READ EVENTUALLY (publications which will still be interesting months later). If this last file becomes too overwhelming, keep in a second file; still better than piles all over the house!
