This was an excellent choice for myself and my husband. He does research and wanted something that was not cumbersome. This suites us just right. The only problem is that the tray for the CPU is not long enought. We have a slim CPU but it hangs over the edge of the shelf by 3 inches. Other than that little problem, it was an excellent choice.

I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because a lot of the parts had belemishes (and I mean a lot).. But staples made it right.. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU CHECK THE PARTS FOR UNACCEPTABLE BLEMISHES BEFORE ASSEMBLY (because you find one during assy, then another.. then by the time you find the third one you already invested considerable time)..

The only thing that annoys me is that I like to use thje mouse in the keybd drawer, and my hand keeps hitting the glass top (but then again I have a large trackball).. Also the drawer tends to slide in too while using the mouse..

I like the glass and metal, because it should look like new for a long time (unless a kid breaks the glass).. The roughly traditiona design means to me I will not hate how it looks 6 months from now.. I use it in the bedroom, and appreciate the smooth edges (fairly safe for knees, toes, etc)..

I use this desk in my home where it fits perfectly with some of my contemporary furniture in my spare bedroom, in both style and size. I really like metal and glass desks, because they seem to really stand the test of time. It was relatively easy to assemble, but I do suggest paying very close attention to the screw sizes and keeping them organized, because I ended up on a section short on some particular screws and had to do some disassembly to swap the correct ones. Also, if you have hardwood floors, I would lay a blanket down to avoid scratching it. You'll also want to use a rubber mallet to tap the various plastic end caps on pieces. The tower/cpu stand is quite small, and even my Mini Dell Vostro tower was hanging off of it. I elected to remove it and just sit my tower on our hardwood floor for now. A nice feature is the keyboard tray and printer shelf can be moved left or right and essentially slide across the main structural bars, so you're not stuck with just one orientation, however the printer stand (if you want to use it for that) uses C shaped bars that protrude 4"-5" from the back, so you really won't be able to install the desk completely flush against a wall. If you want more desk space, while assembling I would just skip the step where the printer shelf comes into play. I would not recommend removing the printer stand after the desk is fully assembled though, as the bars it slides on are integral to the support of the structure and it could end up being damaged, but that's just my observation. I'm quite happy with this purchase and expect to get at least a decade of use out of it.

I have been shopping for a new computer desk for 4 or 5 months. I had an armoire and for an Imac it didn't work well at all. I was looking for a desk that I could put my printer on top of the desk and yet still have room to work. This desk was everything I was looking for. The design is awesome, and very sturdy. [...] I don't like to buy furniture that I can't sit at for a while and try it out, but this time I'm glad I bought the desk.

I bought this desk 2 weeks ago. Nobody can deny that it has a pretty slim design. However there are 2 cons that need to be considered: 1) Narrow keytray: although the keyboard tray can be moved left and right, the tray itself is narrow - so if you put in a keyboard and there will be little space left for your mouse. 2) Bad wood and paint: I love the steel-and-glass, but i don't understand why there is such eyesore as wood. the color of the paint (which is brown red) doesn't match the entire desk, much less to say the overall theme of my SOHO. Much nicer in real life. The chromed metal looks very nice , goood finish. Glass is very strong, and amazed by the moving keyboard and printer stand. Lots of room, easy to follow instructions! Loved it!!!
