I paid such a large amount for the name brand that turned out to be the worst product I think I have ever purchased. It doesn't cut a straight line, the blade doesn't even cut consistently. Nothing EXACT about this Exacto.

I have purchased many XACTO products over the years. This was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. The most important part of the trimmer is the cutting handle. This handle is terrible....flimsy plastic that wobbles. I tried to cut about five thin sheets of paper and the handle was hung up on the side of the trimmer. I took it back to Staples the next time the doors opened and purchased a GBC trimmer. Only [$] more but a million times better. What happened to XACTO's quality controlon this product.

Found that you cannot cut more than 5 pieces of paper or the paper will BEND with the blade and not be CUT by it. Also found that you need to lean/push the blade toward the board and down toward the table at THE SAME TIME to get the paper cut. The sliding guide is useless. Too hard to move around.
