I use the router for my home network -- two laptops on different floors of the house. We had a little trouble establishing the network again with the new router (renaming the network fouled everything up) but it works fine now. I have cable broadband, and both the cable modem and the old router blew out simultaneously, so power surges could be a problem.

I THOUGHT I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY LAPTOP, COULDN'T CONNECT WITH THE ORIGINAL ROUTER. REPLACE IT WITH THE NETGEAR AND MY 4 YEAR OLD LAPTOP RUNS LIKE A DREAM.

Changed from Netgear G router to this router because we moved and the router is in basement and we had a weak signal on 3 laptops when on 2nd floor using at the same time (also very slow). It was very easy to change routers-step by step instructions. I am very pleased with this router--now we can all be on our laptops, get a strong wireless signal and not have to wait 3 minutes for screen to change because we are all on laptops at same time :o)

My previous Linksys router was much faster. I had to call tech support to set this one up. It was quite difficult but after 45 mins to an hour on the phone we got it working! I must say it is VERY reliable & that has been WONDERFUL! It is considerably slower, but it works!

After struggling for weeks trying to get a Linksys Wireless N router to work I returned it for this Netgear. Amazingly simple to set up, secure out of the box, great speed and connections strength throughout my house (all three floors). Has not needed to be reset at all yet. The only reason that it doesn't have 5 stars is that I neglected to use the OpenDNS option during setup and now cannot get back to it. I recommend that you do use the OpenDNS options and the netgear router iteself is Highly recommended.
