Comments about pcAmerica Restaurant Pro Express POS system:

I am a new restaurant and I used Restaurant Pro Express based on a recommendation. Bought it and installed it on new HP Touch Screen Computers. The only thing, again the only thing that works is printing orders to the kitchen printers. Every other function of the software DOES NOT WORK! Tech support is no help they o nly want you to give them remote access, then they change your settings and make it worse after they disconnect. They are rude, can't speak English, and are of no help, figure it out yourself, you are better off. Their websites are of no use to you. It is easy to setup for entering orders, splitting tickets, but that is all. Entering tips don't work at end of shift. I had to get the bank to manual enter them. I have to use a stand alaone credit card machine to run credit cards, cause it does not allow me to enter tips in, I have tried for 2 months with no success and PCAmerica does not know what to do, but screw up my system every time they get online! I will have to replace my software, but no other companies will use my new HP Computers, they want to sell me new equipment, they are brand new!

All the bad reviews you read about are true....DON'T BUY PCAMERICA or RESTAURANT PRO EXPRESS, you will be another upset customer like me. They don't care about you! and your business.

You would have a hard time finding a better company to to have on your side. They do make it easy, you can download a full demo version of the software and take it for a free test drive ( my dad always said saving a buck is a good thing )I've had my system almost 3 years running now, the only thing that ever happens, you need to replace the printer paper when it runs out another good thing. From their sales group to their support group, over overseas and here USA they do the job and its first class. The database works very well never had one problem, very easy to install, program, train your personal. A great system
Restaurant Pro Express. When I'm ready for my second system it will come PC America.

Comments about pcAmerica Restaurant Pro Express POS system:

Started using PCAmerica's RPE back in 2008 for a bar/club business. After downloading about 7 other trial systems the year before, this software sold me on a few big items. First, the ability to do time-based pricing, which most other software didn't have. Second, the cost of the product was very reasonable, especially for a small business like ours, and third, the support team is available 24/7, weekends and holiday's. If you have a problem, it is usually solved on the first phone call. If you have a program enhancement feature you'd like to see (I have requested and received TWO so far), they will see if it benefits all users, or customize it just for your business purpose. The software is upgraded usually once a month which shows dedication to their product. The simple setup (the most important part of your system)was completed in a week, and the employees were trained in just a few hours each. If you are looking for a very simple, cost-effective system for your business, this is the one to choose. I hereby put my name on their reference list.

Opening a restaurant is tough and we were in trouble since we did not have a workable Point of Sale system and it was only 10 days to the Grand Opening. Thanks to PC America for bailing us out. Through their help we completed the server installation, setup of the database, completed the installation of six stations and trained the 30 staff completing everything with a couple of days to spare. I love PC America because of its ease of use and the excellent technical support staff.

Comments about pcAmerica Restaurant Pro Express POS system:

The question is where to start? If you have a fine dining restaurant, be careful with split checks and credit cards... Nothing but a NIGHTMARE!!! Can loose money on reports... IE Tips that wait staff have to report. If Credit cards need to be voided, then how does customer know if their CC was voided or charged twice? If you have a problem, Tech Support is out of India. Here is a log of 3 clients that I have with pcAmerica on at their restaurants: Client #1 (J)– They have had split checks. One instance, the check was split then discovering a mistake, Server went to recombine and then re split it and lost a whole check. Came back up blank. Charge was made in PC Charge as well as voided. I had to go in and retrieve the CC # and re ring up the sale so the Restaurant will get their $140 for the sale. Wrong tips were added to checks and had to straighten the whole split checks and tips correctly. Wrong card was charged and tipped for wrong check, How did the customer know that his/her CC was not charged twice or wrong after the correction? Customers getting upset thinking that Restaurant is double charging them. Try to grat a table. When pull up check and take it to table, the grat is wrong or NO Grat, then when cash out, Grat was added. One day the printers changed. The receipt was chitting up to kitchen printer. Why? No One went into the printer settings to change that. Client #2 (F) They have the same problem with Split checks. Check was charged wrong. I Had to correct it. This week alone, The printer changed from receipt to the kitchen printer. The receipt was chitting up to kitchen printer. For some reason a modifier did not chit up to the Master kitchen printer, It did to the other printers Like it was suppose to. I checked it today (Thursday) and could not recreate the problem. I have a "note to chef," a "Note to Bar," button on all of the systems so you can send those unique requests to the appropriate printer. A wait sent a request to the chef and all it said was note to chef. It did not put his unique request in. Nothing was changed. A Credit card for $35 got lost. Trying to find the CC# to recharge it so the restaurant will get their Money. A wait staff went to pay out a split check. Split 1 was cash and Split 2 was CC. the CC ran, got a Refference and it still showed that it was unpaid. Pc Charge however had captured the CC to where I could get it processed. As I mentioned earlier, System went down and now on the server it takes forever to complete a transaction. When you try to cash out a check, the waiting comes up and just sits there. Client #3 (M):I have had tables lost. Wait staff prints bill and when it comes back to cashier, That table is gone, No Pay or nothing. The Check is blank if you try to recall it. I Had to re ring the order to get the money. The DDR is off balance because of that. Gift Certificates were lost when trying to place them into the system. It was supposed to be for 3 Gift Certificates for $15 ea. 2 of them ended up w/ $30. Tried the grat and was able to replicate the same problem as the grat is wrong or NO Grat, then when cash out, Grat was added. Had the problem with the Credit cards beginning to auto batch each day. It took nearly a week to get it fixed and on the phone for over an hour. Tech did a great job in getting problem solved, No excuse that the problem just out of blue started and taking a week to get resolved.

                    A:

POS is hardwired through the PC, it handles table layout, purchase orders, split checks, comps and voids, happy hour pricing, and applying payments with multiple tenders. Also there is an add on option to order to include an APG cash drawer. This system includes 1 Restaurant Pro Express POS software license and the POS System comes with all the necessary cables except network cables.

This does not come with a cash drawer. The monitor is sitting on the computer used to run the software. The keyboard and mouse are included with purchase.
