I love to write with fountain pens and I have alot of trouble finding paper that the fountain pen ink won't bleed through.

These steno pads (I purchased these Feb. 2010) had far superior paper to pads that I have purchased in the past, whether manufactured by Staples or other companies). I am hoping that the quality of the paper continues to be of such superior quality, if so, I will be very loyal to this brand.

I have used Staples steno pads for years and was previously quite pleased with the quality. However the product has changed! Instead of using nice sturdy Kraft board for the front and back, the front is now a thick shiny page(that cannot be written on) and the back is now thin cardboard, rendering it useless when away from a desk or hard surface to write upon. In addition, the paper itself is now of inferior quality - much thinner than before.

                I tutor and I use one for each student with their name on the cover and the date we started. Great for when they show up with no materials.
                I also use them at home. There is one next to the phone and I jot every call down for later refeerence....especially banks these days.

                  Does this have a red line down the middle? I am looking for a notepad that does not have the line down the middle. I would also like no margin.

                    These steno pads are Gregg ruled - which does have the margin down the middle. I'd recommend the Staples Top Bound 4" x 6" Memo Book, item #200006, which is college ruled, so no margin down the middle. The general rule of thumb if you don't want the red line down the middle is to look for something that does NOT say it's a steno book/pad - they all will have the margin in the middle.
