More Plusses Than Minuses

This case is expensive for what it is. That said, you'd be hard pressed to find one that will fit the A500 as perfectly as this one does (at this time.) The cutouts are in all the right places; the only reason to remove the case would be to access the MicroSD card, which hopefully you won't need to do too often. It adds virtually no bulk to the tablet and good corner protection. Not sure how it would do in a fall (hopefully it will not need to prove itself.) That it can prop the tablet up for hands-free operation is a definite plus. Some people have complained of a strong smell upon first opening it (I didn't...); that is normal for rubber that has only recently cured. It will go away in a few days. For what it does, I would recommend the case - until there is more competition at a more reasonable price.

The Iconia Tab is a wonderful device that is solidly built. It's too bad that Acer didn't find it worthwhile to give the same treatment to their case. While it does what it says, protect the screen and device, the case falls short on quality and affordability. The tablet fits snugly in the sleeve, However, the fact that the case is simply stamped together gives it a rough edge all the way around the case that makes it look and feel cheap.The neoprene type material feels comfortable to hold. But the multifunction cover flap that acts as a stand is flimsy and does not provide good support. After a few uses I noticed the tablet would lean a bit to one side as the material began to give. The cheap Velcro dot that is used to secure the cover closed is useless. A light flick of a finger will pop the cover open exposing the tablet screen. Acer would have been smart to use a magnetic closure instead to give it a mode secure feel.And finally, the cost for this thing is outrageous. [$] for a thin piece of rubber is ridiculous. It's almost worse than paying $20 for a plastic phone case. You get about fifty cents worth of material and pay a hefty premium for it. I ended up getting a nice Targus netbook case that can hold the charger as well as a quality tablet stand for about fifteen bucks.

          I found this product to be a bargain for the price. The case was very easy to install and use. The case takes up very little space and is smooth to the touch. It flattens so you can pack it away or use it on the Acer Iconia all day. This coupled with a film for the screen would be a great gift for anyone you might know, or just for yourself to use. I did find that some of the buttons on the side were were covered slightly, as was the spot for the power cord, but on the whole I was pleased with the product.

          Mic hole not in right spot, interfers with my speaking. Costs too much! Great case for $15, not [$]. If it cost $15, would be a 4.5 star. Only configures into one position. (The other .5 star) It's slim enough that I can still use my 'outer' case for extra protection, and still fit in my hand bag.
