Cross pens are more elegant than the average ballpoint, but they're charging Cross prices for refills that aren't anything special. If you want to write with a comfortable pen that gives good value, go for one of the nicer Pilots, Uniballs or Staples Classic Grip pens. When these refills wear out, I'll put the pen away and go for the more practical alternatives.

Two Cross refills cost something over $7. But someone gave me a silver Cross pen, and it was either get the refills or put the pen in the back of a drawer somewhere. Better deal, by far: Staples brand Classic Grip gel pens and refills. Nice looking, far easier to hold, and cheaper.

I have been using Cross refills for over 25 years both blue and black ink. I never had a failure with this product and I will continue to purchase it. Today was an excellent example as I was grading papers and making multiple comments. Then I switched over to write I paper which I have have working on for over a week. The Cross refills and the pen itself is a piece of fine construction. It has mistakenly been put through machine washing and pops up working each and everytime without skipping a beat. A great product.

I prefer to use the Cross Broad Point Refill in all my refillable pens. The Fine Point seems to feel scratchy, while the Broad Point is smooth.

This is a product that is ALWAYS just what we expect. The guidlines they use to manfacture these are above standards. You know what you are buying and there are NO surprises! They make great products..not just in their refills. You may pay a little more but it is truly worth it because they are dependable, very good quality, and the company stands behind each and every product they sell. Their refills really last longer than expected....seems like a small item, but the time frame on the usage is really amazing.
