There are such reviews on Amazon complaining about this residue but reviews elsewhere are certainly mixed with many users praising this item and without knowing under which conditions the discs were stored, it is impossible to tell. Generally, keeping the discs away from light and heat may help avoid the problem but if a cool, dark place is not available, perhaps paper sleeves may be a more viable alternative. One user reported that they were able to remove the film easily with baking soda and water if you choose the plastic sleeves but I would recommend solid state or even on line back up storage as a safety precaution, especially since many computer manufacturers appear to be phasing out optical drives on the latest computers.
