After shopping around I decided to purchase this wooden file cabinet rather than a metal one. In this price range the metal ones are no thicker than a soda can. Very flimsy, with locking mechanisms that could be opened or bent with no effort. This is solid and heavy with drawers that slide no problem, good lock. Very well made. You will not find a better file cabinet anywhere near this price. It appears much more expensive.

Top heavy and the file cabnet must be held when you open the draw so the cabinet doesn't fall over. Even with heavy stuff on bottom and lighter on top. Looks nice from a distance, but poorly made.

    Though I had gone to Staples for a very different matter, computer, I knew at some point a 2-drawer legal file was going to be necessary for genealogical files. I was lucky enough to come across the last one available in-store!
