We needed something to hide our computer since the office and new baby's room will be a shared space. This is great because it holds all our computer peripherals and just enough office supplies, but when closed up it looks like a nice piece of furniture. We used the open shelf on top to display baby items to make it fit into the room. I was happy to find that it even accommodated our large all-in-one printer/fax/scanner. An added bonus is the double sliding surfaces, one for the keyboard and one that can be used as a desk area.
The package is very large and heavy (definitely needs two people to lift) and at least a mini van for transport. The assembly was intricate and time-consuming (about three hours) but the directions were easy to follow. Once assembled the piece is, again, very heavy and somewhat cumbersome to move. However, it is a very nice armoire that works perfectly to hide what's inside.
Overall we are very happy with the purchase. It's a great value.
[...] Well, unless you want hard and laboring work, ask how much to assemble for by professional. It sure take myself a long two days (total 9 hrs at least, want to do slowly so I dont mess up)The instruction is easy and pictures are clear to follow so no problem there, it's the time and the pieces that are tricky to put together by one person. BUT, I did it and proud of myself, probably save [$] assembly. the problem with this armoire is the pull-out tray for the printer, it's to high, should have more holes available if people have larger height printer. I drill new holes to lower the tray to get my printer in, bummer, it is hard to do since measureing is difficult and afraid it will not fix after all the adjustment. Also the side of both doors need to be careful when open when drawer table pulled out, it get scratches easily. Definitely, I dont like the qaulity of this material particle board woods, it poor poor construction. Unless you want cheap and make-do then this one for you. otherwise get a real wooded one.
I recomended this product to my Brother and he purchased one. To our suprise the product went on sale. [...]
For my wifes computer
This is used in a small space as a home computer center. It works well for what we needed it for.
I use this as a scrapbook/craft cabinet and it is great.
Good product for multi-use small apt. space.
Assembled it by myself. The instructions are easy to follow. [...]. The only problem was a slight damage to one of the boards (not visible at final construction).Overall, I am very pleased with this product.
I like the computer armoire because it hides the computer and acessories that you don't want seen in a room that has nice furniture and acessories in it, it keeps the flow of your room nice and looks like just another nice piece of funiture in the room. It also have a nice amount of space and storage for the size. I'm very pleased.

This is a wonderful Armoire! It is very beautiful and well built. The armoire is very sturdy and is holding up very well. The wood is actually darker and much better looking -more between cherry and walnut- than pictured on the website. The only con I have found is the assembly is very difficult. I would STRONGLY recommend THE ASSEMBLY SERVICE. It is [$] for this specific cabinet, and had I known about it before I would have gladly paid twice that to have someone else put it together! The extra bookshelf is HUGE and very convenient. This is a great armoire YOU WILL LOVE IT!!

COMPUTER STORAGE,I THOUGHT UNIT WAS A LITTLE PRICEY,NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR PRINTER HAD TO CUT SELF AND REMAKE
Nice way to hide the computer and clutter. Extra bookcase is a plus!

For the money a great buy, but you will need a lot of time to put together

I am downsizing my office, and trying to squeeze the computer workstation into a den. The measurements worked perfectly for my available space, and it seemed attractive. [...]ASSEMBLY: Very difficult, took me over 6 hours. I was very careful and still made errors by following the manual. Worst part -- The pull-out keyboard drawer would not just "pop" in as the diagram suggested. After fiddling with it, one side slid in, the other refused, and the entire drawer unit broke away. The particle board just was not designed to hold the screw and the weight -- the screw tore out of the particle board leaving a deep hole. I had to toss that "feature" entirely.ASSEMBLY MANUAL: Badly written. The many pieces are assigned letter-ID in the Manual, but only one-third of the actual pieces are tagged with any ID. You must match eveything else to the poorly drawn manual images, (an annoying glossary), forcing you to guess in many cases. The step-by-step is badly organized, often overlooking a step that becomes very painful to do later on. Because things like "finished surface" ID was unclear, for example, I kept screwing pieces together, unscrewing them, and re-screwing them far too often.DESIGN: This is a flimsy design. The structure is held upright by the cardboard backing, nailed to the frame like a sewing stitch with 57 nails provided. Even with the cardboard backing, it tends to tilt right or left if even gently pushed on either top corner. Evenif you pop for the [$]Assemby Fee, the product you get is not worth it.BOTTOM LINE:An annoying product, poorly designed with a complicated assembly made more difficult by a badly written manual.I would never buy SAUDER again. Staples does a disservice to its customers by carrying this shoddy brand.

Very attractive armoire. It looks much better in person than in the online picture. I really wanted one that had a file drawer, among other things. I made it work by narrowing down my most used files and putting them in a paper file (to the right of the montior in the pic). There is more storage than I thought and enough room to work on in front of the monitor even without the pullout workspace above the keyboard. We have a 900 sq ft home and it had to go in our guest bedroom. I love that you can never tell what is hidden behind when you close the doors and it looks just like a guest bedroom, not a guest room/office. We just slide up a chair we use as decoration in the bedroom when we need to use the computer. My husband didn't care for the instructions too much. One screw went straight thru the wood and one board was scratched and damaged, but it still met our needs based on budget. Besides, I hope I can just color it with a furniture marker.[...]
Images shared by: Cotten FamilyMy office is very visable. This classic armour allows me to work and close shop without a hitch. It does take two days to assemble however when finished it is worth to wait! I am very, very happy. In fact my personal organizer bought one as well.
I enjoy my computer desk because I can easly hide my computer and other items from wondering eyes. The thing I don't like is that the printer area is really small and I have to pull out my printer to the edge of the shelf to use it.
We use it for our computer in the living room, and I like the fact that all the clutter is shut up out of the way within an attractive cupboard. For our family it has plenty of storage for everyone's computer needs.
The product had a few nicks and scratches on it, when we recieved it.
I was looking for an armoire for my computer long time ago, but also I was loooking for the perfect size, look, and price. I found it. and I love it. The only bad thing about it is that you have to assemble every single part. The good thing is that they come labeled. It took me and my sister working together to assemble it 3 hours. If you like puzzles this is perfect for you. when you finish you are going to feel good for the work you have done. I recomended it.
This was a heavy box, so I had to open it in the garage and bring it piecemeal into the house. However, that is ok because that means that there is some substance to the parts. The assembly instructions were straight forward which is a good thing. It takes a couple hours to build and you can do almost the whole thing by yourself. I would recommend a second person when pulling it up right (you build it in the laying down position) to avoid damaging the legs/base. There was one spot that the screw went thru the wood. I think that it shuld be designed that the customer cannot screw so hard that it goes through the panel. Luckily, it was on the top where no one really sees it unless you are pretty tall. I would not have minded it if the items dimensions were a little bigger. I LOVE the fact that it closes up and looks like a nice piece of furniture. It hides any mess of paperwork and the computer. The one concern I have with this (and most desks) is the robustness of the keyboard drawer. I just hope that it is strong enough to handle the weight of people's arms resting on it while typing. My last desk had the keyboard drawer break off because too much pressure was applied to it (even though it was being used properly).
This is a great computer armoire for the price. This fits my 22 inch computer moniter with no problem. I was somewhat worried that I would be too tall to use my computer in this armoire comfortably because I am almost 6 feet tall and I spend many post-bedtime evenings gaming. Well I find this to be very comfortable to sit at for long periods of time and have no issue with the desk or keyboard pull-out tray being too low. The storage on top is a very attractive addition and although it is large to hold just books, a row of books with a few tasteful decorative items in front looks very appealing (or just stacks of unopened mail). I would definitely recommend this product, and the price is the best out there. Next year at tax time we are getting another one for my husband!
This armoire looks great and holds my PC with a 22" monitor and printer. Pull out shelf for printer is nice to have.
No place to store pencils, or to place a desk light, but it does hide a ton of stuff in our dining room. I have several other Sauder products and have always been happy with their quality.
The Sauder Armoire is GREAT! I live in an apartment so space is limited. This armoire helped me to consolidate all my office equipment into one area.
It is quality construction and pretty heavy so be sure to call some friends over to help move it.
I received this as a birthday gift. My daughter and husband assembled it for me with no problems. If you are looking to hide your cluttered desk and still entertain, this is the item to have. It is a very attractive piece of furniture. Would recommend it over and over again. Also, it was purchased at a affordable price.
I love this armoire. It took me 4 1/2 hours to put together. It seems like very sturdy construction. I would have loved to have seen a non-flimsy back, but most of these Sauder products have that anyway, so nothing I wasn't expecting. The storage could be a little better as most people now have flat screen monitors and the space behind the monitor is wasted for people that have the monitors pulled out a little further for comfort. The shelves on the right and above the monitor space could be a little longer (more deep) but overall, it's a good desk and serves it's purpose for me. The bookshelf on top is really great and very deep, the only thing is when you put the screws in for the top, they don't stop on their own and one of the screws went through, but at least it was on the top and nobody but me will know about it.
This is a great PC space saving Armoire, for the price. I looked for months, and, was so glad I finally found what suited my needs. I assembled it myself, and just needed a friend to help me upright it. Although it is a pressed wood, and the doors are lightweight, the whole unit is very heavy, sturdy, has plenty of storage space, looks good, and if you follow the directions, not that tough to put together, just time consuming. [...] Got rid of my computer cart, and this is now in my Master Bedroom, with no clutter, and an attractive piece of furniture.
I like that when I finish working on my computer I close the armoire and it looks like any other piece of furniture. Neat.
The heigh is great, which provides a lot of storage. The extra hutch on the top is too deep but I have many books to fill it up although would be hard to reach the ones in the back.
I had looked for over a month for a cabinet/desk/table that would meet my needs at a reasonable price. I found it in this armoire. I record old vinyl albums and cassette tapes on my laptop and needed a piece of furniture that would hold my computer and audio equipment. My laptop fits nicely on the keyboard shelf, while the stereo receiver, turntable, and cassette player fit where a monitor would normaly go. Lots of space for a printer and extra storage. When I'm done I can close it up to keep dust out.
It was time consuming to assemble but is sturdy and attractive. Get 2 people if you need to move it!

I bought this for my daughter as a birthday gift. She said it is roomy and also looks nice It will hold her computer along with storing scrapbooking supplies and assorted other things that have been in various closets. Nice for organizing any room. [...]
This armoire is currently advertised for [$], which is a great value for what you get. This product is *exactly* what I was looking for. I have it in the corner and it looks so nice and neat when the doors are closed. I am very happy with the way everything fits inside. I agree with other reviewers that a small drawer for pens/etc. would have been nice. This unit feels very solid--the only part that is flimsy is the cardboard part that goes on the back, but you don't really see that anyway. Assembly was time-consuming, but not rocket science. I am a female and I did it by myself. Also, I would like to say that the manufacturer was very easy to deal with. One of the parts was slightly damaged. Sauder replaced the part for free, and will do that for 5 years. It was very easy to order the replacement on their website. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase.
This unit has been a great addition to our home. We have it in our dining room and visible from our kitchen so we can watch our kids on the internet!!! Attractive and compact and easy to close the doors when we have company.
I have incorporated everything into this item and have a nice neat area,I am pleased with the look and construction of it. It is not easy to transport and had a few problems with the instructions but it was all worth it. The idea of the closed doors to hide everything is great. I love it.
Looks great in corner of any large or small room. Was great to get my computer and accessaries in one place and behind closed doors. All wires fit nicely through pre-cut holes in back. Was difficult to put together, but directions were clear and extra parts were included. Once assembled, it is a very sturdy piece of furniture. No worries about it toppling over!
weels do not hold up good and lock broke real easy

enough storage for all my stuff

The armoire is very heavy and took my husband a while to put together. Once it was assembled, it looked nice and is the perfect storage area for our computer and mail/bills. I can close the doors when I am not using it and you would never know what's inside (We have it in the corner of our living room). Overall it was a good buy for the price we paid - other armoires were three times as much.

This cabinet holds my 19" flat screen monitor, tower unit, printer, 8 1/2" x 11" flat scanner, telephone, books, and nooks for pens, pencils, and paper. Best of all, the doors close to conceal everything inside. Also, if you have the room, they open and fold back, out of the way. A power drill would have made assembly a lot easier. It took two days to get it all together. But, I can have access to my computer, and do, several times a day. Thank you. [@]

Very nice to be able to close the doors and visitors have no idea that this is your computer desk. No drawer space for pens, paper clips, rubber bands, so I used trays which don't look very nice. I wasn't aware of how hard it would be to assemble. And it cost extra to have someone come to the house to assemble. I had a friend to assemble the armoire and it took him a little over 8 hours to put together. The back of the armoire is made of thin cheap cardboard which was very easy to damage. For the price, I would have thought the armoire would have been constructed of all wood. [...] Overall, if I had to do it over again, I would not have bought this armoire as it didn't serve my needs and disappointed in the quality. Also, I think that the extra cost to assemble it should have been included in the cost. Not a good buy for your money.

Good for the price. Not the highest quality, but easy to assemble (I did it all alone!) and serves it purpose.
Attractive design, fits perfectly when trying to 'hide' the office.

I was looking to down size my home office and make it back into a bedroom and this was just the perfect answer. I had a large two sided desk with work space on each end but it was time to "get small". This unit is just great for my situation...very happy

THIS IS A GOOD CABINET FOR THE AVERAGE USER. HOWEVER, I DO NOT FIT IN THAT CATAGORY BECAUSE MY COMPUTER IS A DELL XPS 710 SERIES COMPUTER. MY COMPUTER IS TOO LARGE TO FIT IN THIS CABINET AND I BARELY FIT MY 30 INCH MONITOR. DON'T GET ME WRONG; THIS IS GREAT FOR MOST PEOPLE, BUT, NOT PEOPLE WHO OWNS ANY OF THE XPS COMPUTERS. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON WHY I RATED THIS CABINET 4 OUT OF 5 STARS.

Not as much space as my desk had (of course) since the footprint is much smaller, but it's perfect in my apartment.
[1 of 1 customers found this review helpful]
This desk looks fairly good and would have been easy to assemble if it had good instructions. The pictures in the instructions would flip flop between pages making it very confusing. Also the instructions do not give good discriptions. Parts do not align properly leaving some gaps and some off set joints but it still looks good when you do not know the faults. Would be noce if it had a drawer for some storage. Also the monitor space is to small for a large monitor.
I love that it hides everything and it looks nice when closed.

A lot of room for all my computer components.
I like the locking doors, helps keep the little ones out.
