I have three of these bookcases, and I love them. They are very sturdy and easy to assemble (it comes in one piece!). The only problem I have with them is the original asking price. I bought mine only when they were on sale.

Created a home office/library in my 2nd bedroom. Bookcases sturdy, able to hold weight with no bending of shelves, stackable, and attractive. I already had 5 before I bought this last 2! Good quality, good price, useful - who could ask for more?

We needed to double book storage in one of our rooms. A couple years ago, I purchased a similar mission-style stackable shelving, same color, and they were beautiful. (Similar price). These don't exactly match, and side-by-side these new ones look a little less nice. But since they are loaded with books, and they are right next to the old shelves, it isn't too noticable.
However, for the first 2 weeks, there was an odd odor in the room. It reminded me of when we used to have to spray roach poison around the house and leave for hours. Not very pleasing at all. I burned candles almost all the time to try to minimize the odor.

I have five in my classroom, and wish I could afford to add more.
The shelves are large enough for textbooks, and are easy to fold and transport in my car when summer comes.
Other teachers at my school are envious of my shelves - since they tend to skimp on the investment and purchase pressboard shelves that are a hassle to assemble, and fall apart after a few moves.
These make great gifts for the teacher in your life!

I purchased one of these when I purchased my mantle-top shelves (also on this site; same look but they are closed on top). I took it back. It just didn't look very sturdy next to the other shelves. It looked to me like dorm furniture or something you might pick up because you didn't have enough money to buy something better. It's definitely a quality item for the price, and is well-constructed in reality. It just doesn't really look it. I have a friend who bought about twelve of them, stacked them and lined her office with them, and that looks cool. But alone it just looks flimsy and incomplete. I'd recommend paying the extra [$] and getting the mantle-top! Much sturdier and classier-looking.
