I purchased this table from the store when I noticed that it was on clearance. I had had my eye on it for a while, so I was excited to see it in my price range. I bought the already assembled one from the store as I thought I would give my boyfriend a break from assembling my Staples furniture. ;) And it is absolutely beautiful, easy to move around, and just completes the living room wonderfully...well, until I get the matching nesting side tables...then it will be complete.

Quality is OK, except for the color. The color is NOT as displayed on the picture. I bought this because I thought that it will match with the color of my hardwood floor. However, its color is much darker like cherry color. Be careful before you order.

For [$] the quality is very good. It's made from nice heavy real wood and the fit and finish of the product was great. Very heavy table so it's very stable even with the top up and a fair amount of weight on it. The operation of the table is very smooth and easy to do and is the perfect height for using it on the couch.

I found this table while I was in the market for something to store all our gaming items in. This table is great for that, it even has plenty of room for my W** Fit. It is great having the clutter out of the way be very accessible when needed. I have two young boys and the top is great for them also. They love being able to enjoy a snack while watching tv using it as a table. The hinges are great to because they release slow enough that there is no fear of one of them getting their fingers caught in it. Overall I love this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for verstility in a table.

The only thing I wish was different would be if it could be rectangular instead of square (others have said that too)...but, that's not really possible because it would tip then...so it's how it has to be to be stable.

The idea of this desk is a great one having a pop up top. But the wood was not described or shown on line as it really was. I have simple decor of earthtones yet this awful wood tone still looked terrible in the room - it looked cheesy and not well made. What a disappointment.

This oak desk is seriously misleading being represented as Mission Oak. I have lots of mission oak and mission oak is not the very light honey color that this desk was. It was poorly represented and was the biggest disappointment. I have earth tone decor and it looked awful.Someone should remove the mission oak from the description. The wood color was awful and it looked cheesy.

The table is a tad bit higher in it's closed posisition than I would have preferred but I love it! Solid materials and construction make it a bit heavey. Table is of excellent quality especially for the price. I'm a bit a concerned about the opening mechinism failing after time, but even if it does I'll still be left with a beautiful table. I also bought the mission style stacking tables and they match perfectly!

Somewhat Regret This Purchase
By Miss CVerified Reviewer from Pennsylvania on 6/23/2008
Cons:
Difficult To Move
Best Uses:
Dining, Everyday Use
Primary use:

I purchased this table only because my husband wanted a pop-up coffee table and I couldn't pass up on the price. We had priced Amish all wood lift-top tables which, after shipping, were ten times the cost. We bought the nesting tables and the computer cart to use as a TV stand at the same time. Later we purchased the mobile CPU carts to use as end tables.

Be warned that this collection is constructed of mostly pressboard, NOT wood. The pressboard makes them very heavy.

We've only had the table a couple of weeks and already a rivet on the supporting bracket of the pop-up mechanism has broken. It's a bit large for our small living room but I knew that going in. Overall we're not that impressed with this collection.

I'm only giving this 4 out of 5 stars because I should have taken measurements. On the sales floor, the table height looked perfect (not to mention fitting our decor & looking darned sturdy). Our other coffee table has a top that slides back and forth; a style that works better for us in a livingroom. When this new table is "popped up", the top is so high that none of our seating makes it comfortable to work on. That said, the quality for the money can't be beat!!! Very pleased[...]

The first one I received was a defective unit from the factory. Staples came through and immediately replaced it. Great service on that one. The nice thing about the table and why I bought it, is that it raises up to be a desk or writing/working surface. I end up eating dinner in front of the TV since I get home late and need to unwind a bit and the table raises eliminating the need for separate TV trays. It is also helpful when I need to do additional work. Plus there is storage underneath it hidden when the top is down. I can store remotes and DVDs in there instead of leaving them laying all over the place. A great product and a good idea.
