The Sentry Safe is a good product to secure important documents. The interior needed to be a bit bigger to hold documents contained in manila folders.

I wanted a small safe storage location for marriage license, birth certificates, and legal documents that I could keep at home like a safe deposit box. It holds 8 1/2 x 11 documents flat. I haven't had a catastrophe to prove it works (knock on wood), but it makes me feel better about the documents being in secure storage.

i was moving into a hotel for a few days, and the safe was on top of the dolly that the high end hotels use to carry luggage. The safe fell to the ground fro about 4 ft height and the lid came apart at the PLASTIC hinge. All my credit cards, cash, passports and wife's jewellery was strewn alll over the floor! this is some safe!
