By Almost 70 from Baltimore, Md. on 8/21/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Comfortable, Easy To Assemble
Describe Yourself:

Primary use:

Bottom Line:

Storage cabinet very easy to assemble and is an attractive piece of furniture. The instructions call for the back panel to be placed last. However, I found it very easy to lay the cabinet face down on a soft surface and put the back panel in place first not last; then it is easy to then screw panel into place. Once that is down slide cabinet to desired location and place shelves and doors into place.

Con: In order to use shelves to accommodate both DVDs and CDs I ended up with two extra shelves. However, if any of the shelves get damaged I have extras.

If you need a semi-stylish way to hold more than 1,000 CDs (I did), you'll get 2 of these units. This is knock-own furniture -- i.e. assemble-yourself particle board and veneer. I have put together several different knock-downs and this is by far the best-looking (syle-wise) I've seen in the genre. It's not fine furniture, but it's the only one I found that intelligently holds CDs, DVDs, etc. That's real glass inthe easy-sliding doors, with quality hardware.

After reading some of the previous comments I was hesitant about this purchase. I bought it anyway and the first cabinet I received was damaged due to the flimsy packing materials. I was starting to regret not heeding those comments.[...]Upon opening the box it was obvious by the improved packing materials that they had addressed prior issues. I should say that the packaging was from the manufacturer and not Staples. The cabinet went together very easily and is quite sturdy. I did use a small amount of glue for the dowels as another person had mentioned. I am very happy with this cabinet and with Staples service. Due to the ample storage capacity, I doubt we will ever have the need for another, but I would purchase it again and I would recommend it.

I have a total of 156 dvds and I barely have any space left. This Unit for dvds doesn't hold 196 it hold less than that unless you put the dvds lying down instead of standing up.

Flimsy

Stylish Design
Cons:
Flimsy Construction

Primary use:

Intent was to use for DVD storage, middle shelf isnt adjustable for DVD's to store vertical, must be horizontal & middle stretcher in front of frame/behind sliding doors makes this an obstacle to remove/replace items on centered shelf. During assembly entire pcs was difficult to brace together as it swayed back & forth while inserting shelves, nevermind the swaying after assembly when moving pc to designated location in home.

I like the way this product looks, but had issues with assembly. It wasn't hard to assemble, just that some holes were drilled in the wrong place. Not a big deal, but somewhat annoying. I was able to get it together, and hide the parts that were wrong.

Service & Delivery comments:

There was some minor shipping damage, but not enough to fool with sending the unit back.

Great unit for storing dvds. One word to the wise, it is VERY top heavy. I have a small child and I had to bolt it to the wall (hardware included in package) so it wouldn't tip over.
