I am a teacher and was very glad to have found the index cards on sale this year. I go through a lot of index cards in one school year. We use them for projects, activities, games, flashcards, notes to go home , etc. I also give them away to some of my less fortunate students.

The paper stock is thinner than the millage of standard index cards which makes them less sturdy. The packaging is misleading in that there is nothing to suggest that the mill size will be less than normal index cards.

I bought these with the intention to print recipes on them. The description "made from sturdy cardstock" caught my eye. this was very misleading. They are heavier than regular paper but no where near card stock in my mind.

As an English teacher, index cards are very handy. From reading to taking notes to writing reports, index cards find their way into many classrooms efficiently. The quantity of this pack is excellent, and the idea the cards have been made from recycled materials is earth friendly.

The problem with these index "cards" is their thickness, or lack thereof. It is very flimsy and it feels barely qualifies as cardstock. It feels like maybe 24lb paper. It is too thin to be considered a card. The name brand cards seem to be much thicker/sturdier. If the thickness is not a concern for you, then the cards should be ok.
