Definitely would not recommend. Does not sharpen the pencil evenly. I had to somewhat lean the pencil a little to the left for it to work. Price was okay but for quality, it is definitely down below.

I like the fact that this is a quiet sharpener, but found it wouldn't sharpen new pencils easily and I had to rely on my heavy-duty sharpener. My students like it because it makes much less noise than my other sharpener. Time will tell how long the batteries hold out.

An inexpensive pencil sharpener that works well and doesn't go through batteries at an alarming rate. I use rechargeable NiMH batteries, and they work fine in the sharpener. My son, who uses it for his pencils at home and for school, likes it.

I exepected the sharpener to be fast and efficient, but instead you sit there for what seems like forever for the pencil to sharpen. You also need to keep checking to see if it's finished sharpening. I thought it would at least sound like it was finished so you'd know when to remove the pencil. It sharpens OK once the waiting's over though. I use it for my 1st grade son so thankfully there's not a need to use it frequently. It was free with the rebate, so I guess it was good value for money.

The sharpener was free after it's rebate, so the value was great, however, the power to sharpen a pencil, let alone many pencils, has much to be desired. Probably the fact that it is only battery powered, however I'm sure there are other brands that have more juice than this does.

Bought this from the good reviews. Brand new batteries. The unit is very week. You barely have to push down on the pencil to stop the motor. Plus you have to hold pressure on the clear plastic shavings bin or the motor stops altogether.
I have a "Royal good point" battery operated sharpener that has been awesome for many years, (Still is) and I needed a couple more sharpeners around the house and the workshop.
As soon as I find a couple more Royal's, these will end up in the trash can.
