This palm is so easy to use. The transfer of pics is easy and nice to carry with you to show friends slide shows. I us it for grocery shopping, pictures, memos, appointments- that remind me with an alarm. It's just really cool! It's fun to use!

This is a great alternative for those that do not need all of the functions of a TX. I use this as a backup for my TX and this palm actually seems more reliable!

Since retirement I use this product to maintain all appointments, special days, address book and other listings. It is great to transfer info from Excel to the palm pilot, such as prescription meds, birthdays, anniversaries and other info.

It's nice to have a brain in a box to take with me, since my real one tends to wander away

Very compact design. Fits more easily in a shirt or jacket pocket than the older models. Back-lit color display is easy to read in normal indoor lighting or at night, and is usable even in bright sunlight. Calendar function is quite good for a handheld organizer, and the address book works well also. There is a field for most types of contact information, and free-form comments as well. PalmOS 5 is a significant improvement over version 4. It doesn't do a lot more, but the functions are more refined and complete. Although this model supports storing and displaying photos, you can't store very many in less than 32MB. There is no memory card slot or headphone jack, so it can't be used as a music player either. Good value for the price. The touch screen on recent Palm PDAs is easily damaged if pressure is applied to a broad area of the display. I would recommend storing it in a rigid case that prevents anything from putting pressure on the touch screen.
Bought this for my daughter who couldn't keep anything straight. She loves it. Now her boyfriend wants one too since you can play games on it.

More compact than Z21. Color screen attractive.
Easy to download data from computer from previous model.

Palm advertises this as a replacement for the Zire 31. It is not. It is a pale shadow. Lacks many features. Cheap plastic feel.
I really like this palm

I have tried an electronic organizer previously (HP Jornada) but it just wasn't right so I reverted back to the paper and pen planners that I've used since grade school. Until a week ago when I decided to give another organizer a try, this time one made by Palm (and not a windows-based OS). I am VERY pleased with the Z22. I do not have trouble with technology or computers so I wasn't intimated by moving to digital organization; if anything I was afraid that the Z22 would be too basic... but it is surprisingly a perfect combination of simple and contains all the items I need the most: To Do list, Calendar, Memo pad, Expense tracker. I wish it came loaded with more programs but you can download them from the web site (I really like the List organizer). I also never used the HotSync technology in my previous PDA, but the PalmDesktop program is very intuitive and a great back-up resource!
This is a great alternative for calendaring for someone who doesn't want to pay $150+ per month for data services through the cell phone companies. It doesn't bother me that I have to carry another piece of equipment when I realize that I'm saving $1200 per year. It's lightweight and very durable as it as been dropped hard several times.
I use it primarily for keeping track of my schedule and to-do lists. I set up most of my calendar/tasks on Outlook and/or Yahoo (which can be synced with each other) and then sync my Palm with Outlook. I also like to use the notepad which is just like having a pad and paper for keeping notes. Just about anything can be beamed to another Palm user.
Great for organization; synchronization quit working after less than 2 months. Tried everything. Cable ok, very frustrated. No help from Staples.
When I press an area, it does not always go to that function.

If all you need/want is the purest PDA available, this is the one. Color screen, organizer, notes, calendar, contacts, pretty much anything that doesn't require high resolution is great. And it's white, which adds to it's sharp look. I like Palm software, I'm familiar with it, so this is perfect for my needs.

I love the Palm Z22. I can keep so much on it.
It reminds me with an alarm of appointments or things I just want to do or remember. I do wish the alarm were louder.
I can prove my bragging rites to Grand Kids with pictures in full color and it is easy to do.
Friends and acquaintances address' are a snap to add to the address book and it keeps all the info you care to add to help you remember.
If I have to wait anywhere for a little while I can play a game to keep my mind active, no more boredom waiting in the car or airports.
One of the best things I have every gotten for Mother's Day.
1st. Cake she ever decorated

This is a good product. It does what it saids it will do. There was some complications with directions and how to actually work the item. I did noticed the screen imaging looked a bit blurred, but I guess it maybe due to item not being fully charged. I will check it out the next time I charge it.

It is an adequate device for PDA work.

I use it more than I thought I would. My wife also has one. We both love it.
I use my Palm Z22 to handle my business and personal schedule -- meetings, classes, appointments and tasks. Also having a complete address book with me, and not taking up space to do so, has been very convenient.
THIS PRODUCT IS WONDERFUL
This is a handy product. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a case to protect it. This would be a definite bonus. On the plus side, it doesn't require Outlook for synchronization with the PC. The desktop software is great - lots of space to enter data and it's easy to use.
For calendar and phonebook it works well
My husband bought this for me to manage my calendar "on the go". It has worked out well. I am not very technical and this has been easy to use. I sync it with our calendar on Yahoo which my entire family uses to manage our lives.

I love this Z22 but it won't work!! The first one lasted me 3 weeks and then suddenly I got error messages and had to reset it all the time - finally it died less than a month after I bought it. I got the extended warranty plan (great idea for such a product which is not dependable) and bought another. It lasted me 30 minutes. The battery was charged so that wasn't the problem - it wouldn't turn on and the reset wouldn't work. I'm exchanging it tomorrow for another one. That will make 3. I hope it's not a lemon, also. I don't think it's just bad luck, as a friend of mine has one and has had similar problems. I love the features of the Z22 (Splash Shopper is great, etc.) - there's nothing else like it on the market except those all-in-one units that I don't need - I just wish the Z22 would work and not break down!!

I purchased the Z22 for my teenage son. it died after only 4 months of use (after the the 90-day warranty expired).
I would only purchase another Palm model if it carried Palm's 1 year parts and labor guarantee. The Z22 is not worth the money I invested.

My husband and I have owned Palm Pilot PDA's for about 6 years now. We have really enjoyed them. Surprisingly, this little Z22 is our favorite yet! The price is great! I bought mine first and my husband liked it so much he tossed his Zire 72 and replaced it with this one. I hated my Tungsten E2 which quit after 3 months - I was VERY RELUCTANT to buy another Palm product, thinking the quality was really going down. We've always had the higher-end models which are faster but much bulkier. This unit is a bit slower than our previous models, but not too bad. We don't need a lot of frills in our PDA's and this little organizer is PERFECT. We transfer information constantly (appointments, shopping lists, etc.). We love the light weight, compact, and modern-looking design of this planner. This planner is perfect for my needs as a mom with lots of appointments to keep track of, etc. It is super easy to use and so small that it's a pleasure to hold. The screen is somewhat smaller than other models and I thought that would bother me, but it really is fine. The Splash Shopper is the neatest feature-it is totally flexible and easy to customize completely. It makes going to the store a pleasure and so convenient to keep track of everything. I would highly recommend this planner. It may not be right for someone who likes a lot of frills (i.e. phone, email, etc. all in one planner) - this is basic yet covers the important bases for my lifestyle. My hope is that it will last much longer than my E2!

My old Handspring Visor finally died, and I needed a new PDA. The Z22 is lighter, smaller, cuter, has better graphics and more features, syncs perfectly every time, and makes my crazy schedule a snap to keep organized. No bells or whistles, but if you're looking for something elegantly simple, this is it!

I love this palm...easty to use and synch with computer. Screen is perfect size, especially for viewing photos. Keeps everything organized for me.
This is a great little handheld. I wish the screen was a little larger.

The lack of a cover made it very easy for the PDA to turn on in my pocket and cause odd appointments to appear on my calendar. I'm happy with the Tungsten E2. If you are happy using a case, or you plan on putting this in your purse, you should be fine.
wish they would offer you a cass when your buying the unit . Still Trying to get one from you.

As a psychotherapist, I have some new people scheduled each week, and mainly people who come in the same time each week.
I used to use a big calendar book, writing in each week's appointments. I couldn't function without the Palm, now that I'm used to it. My life is in my Palm.
I use it for portable calendar and contacts. I suppose I should upgrade to Iphone, but not ready for that expense

I bought this for my daughter's first real PDA. After showing her the basics, she is able to quickly integrate it into her daily life. I have enabled yet another Palm enthusist.

The Z22 is easy to setup and use. It doesn't have alot of superfulous software, only the basics. Very good for keeping track of personal information. Only problems I could only find is there is only one style of carring case available and it could use a memory expansion card slot.

I have had my Palm Z22 for over a year now and think it's perfect for me. I wanted a simple tool to keep me organized. If you like gadgets with bells and whistles this is not for you. However, if you want a simple and easy to use organizer this is the one. I especially like the long battery life.

Great palm overall! I am in business and this is a great tool for organization. Has much storage, but isn't compatible with wi-fi, blutooth, or the universal keyboard. Mine has had no screen problems, and is very fast. I have had it for about 6 months now and no troubles yet!

My husband purchased this for me and it's the best gift ever. I'm a traveling hairdresser and this device looks more professional when I'm scheduling their next appt. than to pull out a daytimer book. It's just basic enough for me with a few thrills.

Worked great until the screen no longer accepted input. NO WAY to sync this model if screen goes out.

This Product is wonderful, I have never used something so easy in my life. Its fast and easy, Dont blink or you will miss it. I dont know why anyone would buy another one of these. It can be used for business and a personal but it is more like a Business item. BUY IT TODAY!

Worked ok until the warranty expired. Sometimes the touch sensitive screen works, but most of the time it doesn't. Palm says it will cost more to "fix" than to buy a new one. Why would I buy another Palm anything if they can't produce something that will last just a few months.

Great entry level PDA. No bells and whistles. Just a very effective organizer based on the fundamental philosophy of the original Palm Pilot.

It won't HotSync and dosen't interface with my computer. I like my Palm IIIc better, but it crashed after 4 years.
[2 of 2 customers found this review helpful]
Synch a lot or you may loose all your data if the battery dies.
[4 of 4 customers found this review helpful]
This is so much lighter than a traditional planner, and takes up much less space. I love that I can plan out months ahead and that I can have certain scheduled items be repeated, so I don't have to write them over and over again, week after week. It was easy to learn how to do this. I love the fact that I can color code my appointments. I'm very happy with my investment.

Packs a lot of power for it's size.
Get's the job done!

Prior to buying a Z22 a few months ago, I'd been using a Palm IIIxe since 2001. Although I like the compactness of the Z22, I'm a bit disappointed by the "new and improved" Graffiti II handwriting recognition. It's not clear to me why they bothered to change it and on top of that, it seems slower than the original Graffiti was on my IIIxe (a 6 year old device!).

I was surprised to see that there were no expansion slots for SD Cards, or CompactFlash or anything like that. That was a big turn off for me. The unit also can't use the wireless keyboard that is portable for the model, so it makes it a bad by for my purposes.
