Along with the normal backup duties; creating Backups of home movies, MP3 compilations, computer files and all the other data files that bog down a modern PC. I shoot a lot of digital photos and shooting Raw at 10mb per photo I use a lot of DVD discs. I easily fit a standard shoot 4GB of Raw files and Edited Print and Web Ready JPG images. To play it safe I usually make 2-3 discs per shoot so I have more than a few stored in different cases.

Out of roughly a dozen 100 disc spindles and more than a few 25 or 50 spindles I avg 1-2 bad discs per 100 usually due to pc failure or user mistakes. I have not had any known issues with the discs.

I do not know about their longevity yet, but some of my older discs are pushing 5 years old and still play fine.

.I have used multiple brands from pro to generic and so far these without a doubt have been king of the hill. If you watch for sales and rebates their price is often comparative if not better than generic brands making them unbeatable.. Out of 5 stars I would give them 6.

We use the DVDs to make copies of church services recorded digitally. The copies are made on a high speed, multiple disk synchronous recorder which requires media of the highest quality. Our worst case on a spindle of 100 is one drop out. This is as good as DVDs specifically sold for high speed recording. (Note: Even the 1 drop out would probably be OK for single DVD recording which is much less exacting than multiple disk synchronous recording.) The only "name" brand DVD of comparable quality that we have found is [...].

Over the past 3 years I've burned over 300 of these DVDs with very few rejects. They work fine in all my PC DVD burners (NEC, Samsung, ) and read in my DVD players (Sony, Panasonic). They also work great in my Panasonic DVDR. Wait until they go on sale for [$]per 100.
