Size of display dwarfs my 15" Mac Book Pro.. plugged it into the Mac with DVI cable (purchased separately from Staples for an expensive $75) and I didn't have to do any further setup. Very easy setup. Yay!Disappointed that to adjust the tilt angle, you need a wrench. Can't beat the price at [$].

I highly recommend these screens. There were no dead pixels. The screens contrast ratio is highly under rated. The stands are nice and sturdy as are the frames around the screens. The constrcution is solid. I use these screens for web development and work. I am a soldier and I put these screens through the wringers.

I bought this for my office monitor about 6 months ago. I had to send it back within the first month for repairs (the monitor just went black). It took about 3 weeks for the repairs and the monitor to be returned. Now again I come in to work on Monday morning and the monitor is once again black. I will not get another off brand ever again.

Looks good, reasonable price

Cons:
Speakers almost useless
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Excellent picture, no dead/stuck pixels. I'm currently using the VGA input, because I have a low-grade video card that doesn't work well at high resolutions with DVI output. But the DVI input seems to work very well at least at lower resolutions.

The speakers are inaudible unless volume is set to the max, then they are still very weak. I would certainly never try to listen to music on them. This is a minor defect since I will have a powered speaker setup soon. If you don't care about the speakers, I'd say this is a 5-star monitor.

Good on DVI, fuzzy on VGA
By CHVerified Reviewer from Virginia on 11/29/2007
Pros:
Compact, Inexpensive
Cons:
Flimsy base, VGA connections fuzzy
Describe Yourself:
Value Oriented
Primary use:
Personal

[...]It's a huge screen, just wonderful looking when connected with DVI. When connected with VGA at native 1680 x 1050 resolution, the display is fuzzy. No amount of auto-adjusting would make it better. Every other LCD monitor I've used has done a better job with VGA connections, so if you don't have DVI (and a DVI cable, which is not included), you may want to try something else.

I had waited for several months for this monitor, which according to the reviews made it outstanding. After all, V7? It consistently sold out at Staples, but I'd never heard of the product line. I was not disappointed, for the wait or in the reviews. For the price, it was all, and more! Picture perfect, right out of the carton!

Interestingly, I previously had an Acer 19". The previously read reviews had stated Acer's monitor displays were generally "washed-out", which it certainly was, at least relative to me. Some people may prefer the warmer, mellower tonality. I didn't particularly. The V7, on the other hand, is sharp, easy on the eyes from 48" distance (no rubbernecking necessary, either), true-toned, and appears to be a perfect househould computer monitor, and I dare say a small television screen.

After such an extended period of less-than satisfying displays, this actually took some time getting used to. The decision to buy sight unseen was difficult, but it turned out to be a sound decision. Thank you previous reviewers!

The only weaknesses that I found in it were that the height was unadjustable and the speakers needed to be amplified. Other than that it has worked great for office apps, gaming, watching movies, etc. I like it because of the "bang for the buck."

The size of this monitor is awesome and the price was too! Some reviews said the sound was too low. However, if you adjust your computer settings, and the internal monitor settings it's just fine. You need to go to the V7 website to get instructions on how to do that, but it's very simple once you know how.

Bargain price (when I bought it) for this value line monitor. Picture is crystal clear. Did take some time to get my video card programmed to accept the 1680x1050 resolution (should have been noted in the specs). If you're card doesn't have this resolution, or can't be programmed Dont't Buy This Monitor - 1280x768 is virtually unreadable (narrow lines, letter i, disappear in areas of the screen).

Don't give up on this monitor when you plug it in. It took me about four tries with the brightness and contrast and Apple's color correction software to get it right but once you take the time to adjust it it is a very decent monitor and I am moving up from a Sony 19" which was too dark for accurate colors and it couldn't be adjusted out.

So far, after a couple of weeks of use, I like it. The picture is very good once I got it adjusted. The controls on the monitor did not seem to affect the picture much but my Nvidia VGA card software took care of everything once I customized it for the resolution. (I find I prefer running it at 1440 x 900 rather than the "native" 1680 x 1050 but it runs fine at either.) Note, my 3 year old low-end Compaq desktop had a built in video chip that would not run the monitor at an acceptable resolution so I had to install a card.[...]Documentation is limited.Overall it seems like a quality product. The brightness specifications do not seem to mean much as I had to turn down the brightness for the best picture.
