Great deal at [$] with coupon out the door. Windows recognized it right away on startup. Quite an upgrade from 19 crt. Crysis warhead looks awesome at native resolution. One stuck pixel upper left corner not noticeable at all. The stand is what I would expect for this price range, not heavy duty but useable. Very satisfied with this monitor.

I compared this side-by-side with a[...] that had a prettier bezel. I went into it expecting the [...] to outperform the Acer, and was surprised to find that (to my eyes and on my PC) the Acer's image was comparable and caused less eyestrain.

Good for Office Use, not for Photos!
By HakVerified Purchaser from Riverside, CA on 6/19/2008
Pros:
Clear Text, Fast for Gamers, Price
Cons:
BAD shadows in photos, Inaccurate Colors, Limited color adjustments
Best Uses:
Dorm Room, Gaming, Office
Describe Yourself:
Value Oriented
Primary use:
Personal
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I primarily touch up family photos, edit family videos, surf the web,and do some office work. I like the huge screen size, feels like having two monitors, works great with office applications (text is sharp and clear). Not great for photos - only bright photos appear crisp and sharp. Slightly darker photos have horrible shadows. I have an NEC monitor that displays the darker photos beautifully, so I know it is the monitor problem. No adjustment could correct this issue. I purchased this monitor because of Price, so I knew not to expect top notch display for photos, but I was disappointed at just how bad it was for photos. If you don't plan on doing any image/graphics work where color accuracy is paramount, then this is a great monitor for just about everything else!

This monitor is great. We have bought 3 so far. One from Newegg.com and 2 from Staples. Only down side would be STAPLES. We bought 2 monitors 2 days apart and they changed the price on us at midnight. We kindly asked them if they would honor the price we just paid 16 hours before and they said NO. Not very professional customer service from Staples. Now, as a company we only by at staples if we have too.

I use the monitor for data entry and use on Summation. Works well for seeing three window views at once. I wouldn't use this monitor for graphics as I do not believe the image is as clear as other monitors I have. If you need a large monitor for use with data and spreadsheets...this is a great value.

I was nervous about this monitor being "cheap" because of the price but I could not be happier. While extras on a monitor are nice, they have a habit of driving the price up and if you already have PC speakers and plenty of USB ports, just a plain monitor may be all you need. THIS IS THE ONE if you just need a monitor that produces an excellent picture without extras! I could not be happier - AWESOME!!!!

It shown a black block region in the right bottom corner after using for 6 months. Shipped it to Acer for repair because it stated 3 years warranty. However, Acer declared that it's leaking internally and it's not covered by warranty!

Had another Acer 24" LCD. The color was not correct and hurt eyes. The whole screen became totally black and could not be turn on again after using for only 10 mins. Return it immediately.

Worst products and company I've ever met. I'll never buy any Acer products.

I hoooked this up to my son's PS3 and Linux and Windows computers. He's been using it for gaming on the PS3 and linux, and for his school work and general activities on linux. It does also work for windows, but he rarely has need to use that.

It is an excellent buy, particularly since it supports HDCP, which allows it to be used with the PS3.
