after 3 months of light use, maybe 15 minutes a day, it started making a squaling noise in right fan. which then stopped all together. replaced it with another, just like it, and It stopped in 4 months. I would have thought it would have lasted longer then this.

Was having problem with older laptop overheating .. TARGUS Chill Mat has alleviated problem. Only disadvantage is that a USB port was required; with older laptop, ports are a precious commodity.

I got this product to help keep my laptop from over heating. It has been doing a great job of keeping things cool. I only wish it didn't run off the laptop making it work harder.

It's very lightweight and cools well. I like that it is powered through the computer. However, the fans are noisy sometimes and don't always rotate the same - one may spin faster than the other causing even more noise.

Product is great, just a suggestion (the wire connecting laptop and fan) if we can improve the USB (use half the size of the standard USB) and the Jack (use the L type).

I use my laptop while sitting on the couch, so it would get very hot. This little fan really does make it much more comfortable to use.

First one did not work, the second sometimes needs to be powered off and restarted.
It also takes up a usb port without providing a passthrough port

Have Laptop going 24x7 so is the Pad. The noise from the fans is about the same as a small room model fan. But it does keep the laptop cool.

I use this to finish up business emails, while spending time with my family. I prevents my legs from getting burned, due to the heat emitted by the laptop.
Worked when it felt like working. Finally couldn't get it to work at all. Didn't last 3 months.

My daughter's laptop overheated and shut down after an hour or so of use until we added the Chill Mat to it. Just one plug into the USB port and problem solved!

This mat is quiet and provides a cool breeze to the bottom of the laptop. The only thing to consider is you will need to make sure your carrying case has enough room to transport the mat along with the computer. Luckily, ours fits fine.

It is being used for a college students laptop. A great deal of work is done sitting on a bed and this works great to keep the laptop from overheating and get the ventialtion it needs to prolong the battery life.

Love this chill mat for laptops, as mine was getting hot and I use it on top of an antique side table. Knowing I needed some type of chill mat, I knew this one would be perfect when the sales person pointed out that there are circlulating fans in it. Now my laptop no longer gets hot and this product is perfect. The only drawback to me is that the power plug is in the front, and really should be on the side to stay out of your way. Otherwise, this is a perfect chill mat and protects your furniture also.

This item is already not working properly. One of the 2 fans is not working. so basically it is only working at 50% of what it is supposed to be doing.
When it was working properly it was great and kept my laptop very cool.
My notebook has a tendency to run hot, especially when I have many windows open at one time (????)
This device really does the trick in cooling it down. In addition, I called the manufacturer after I misplaced the cable and they sent me a new one in a few days, no charge and no questions asked. That's good service!

i puchased my cooler a few months back and it seems to cool down my 15 inch laptop, it was shuting down from the heat before and now stays cooler and is not bad for the sale price i paid.i purchased the prp (product replacement) for only 5 dollars more because i dont think it will last 2 years. My friend bought one the same week of the sale and his fans stoped working a week later. You get what you pay for but i am happy with the unit and i know i will have 2 years even if it fails.

Bought this to cool down my laptop but I don't know if it really works...especially for the $ paid. Would not buy again. It's a bit bulky too and raises the laptop considerably.

I am writing a 400-page book and need my notebook to cool off. After going through 3 different ones in 6 months, I was told that they are not meant to be used for more than 2 hours at a time. If you are going to use your laptop for 2 hours only, you do not need a chill pad. So, what are they good for?

I bought the NoteBook Chill Mat to help keep my laptop PC from overheating and shutting down. Although it seems to help lessen the problem, the laptop still does overheat and shutdown too frequently.

Before using this product I suggest anyone first use a canned air product to blow out the dust in the cooling system of their computer. Make sure this is done with the system off as you can damager your CPU otherwise.
Once that is done, I highly recommend using this product to keep the bottom of the computer cool. My wife uses this for her laptop and loves it.

When our laptop kept overheating, we were looking for a solution. I was happy to find a great deal at Staples for the chill pad. We haven't had anymore overheating. Because of the additional cords connecting to the laptop, it makes moving a little more cumbersome. It is still a good value.

This product is very unreliable and it does not cool my laptop at all. Whenever I use it, I do not turn it on because it has a very annoying loud buzz. I also have an Antec cooler and it is one of the best I have used. If you are thinking about buying a cooler, I recommend Antec!

This is a great product but would be even better if there was some way it could be secured to your laptop. If you move your laptop the base doesn't always move with it. Otherwise, this is a great product.
