The unit has been extremely dependable and after 6 months I no longer need my HP970 hanging around for the "just in case" scenario. Machine is fast, holds enough paper and is a breeze to set up.
I wish envelopes could be stacked for faster envelope printing.

Bought this for home office. Didn't setup until after home office was being used - past the 30 day period. Tried to setup printer, lots of clicking and grinding going on. Called HP - said it needed to be replaced. Would not give me new printer because after 30 days from purchase. Sent me refurbished replacement (so basically I paid for a new printer and got a refurbished one in it's place). Refurbished printer is clicking, grinding, jamming. Ready to throw away and buy another brand. This is the worst printer I have ever used. Do not waste your money.

Print heads fail, cannot use automatic feed for photocopying (just produces streaks), laying page by page on scanner still loses edges and color regardless of placement, eats ink like puppy treats. I LOVED every HP I ever owned until this one. If my house was more than one story I would throw it out the window just to watch it smash, but I can't afford to replace it yet.

    18 month review.....
I needed an all-in-one as I work from my office at home a lot. So I didn't want a lot of machines taking up valuable work space. As a basic printer this is a great machine (however it consumes ink faster then our HP 7660). I needed the multiple page scan and fax portion and the document feeder is PURE JUNK. Jams constantly, has been replaced twice and the replacements still jam constantly, or multifeeds so you end up faxing 6 pages instead of 10 or scanning 11 pages instead of 12.. If it was just a cosntant multifeed problem I could live with that (you can always call the recipient and ask which pages they did not recieve and redo those a few times) but the jamming and either not taking a doument or skewing and ripping it, now that I can not handle.

I would NOT reccomend this for the casual user or for someone that needs the document feeder. otherwise its an ok machine.

definately NOT HP quality (maybe they are farming it out?)

Where to begin? Corrupt set-up disk; contacted tech support. Lengthy download. Didn't recognize one of the ink cartridges. Finally able to use the print function but no copy, scan, or fax capability. On-line service tech recommends returning unit to the store. Yep! S/he got that one right!

I have always been an HP printer fan but this product has been disappointing because I do a lot of scanning and the multi-page feeder (for faxes and scans) jams each and every time - has not worked once. So now I have to spend several hours on the phone with HP to try and troubleshoot a brand new product.

Although a Professional Computer/Printer Technician was hired to set up the wireless features & was able to get it to print the "Test" page, we are unable to print anything wireless from the wireless laptops. Always get an error message saying that "Printer is offline." We have to unplug the printer from the desktop PC & then connect it directly into the laptops in order to print. This defeats our purpose for buying this particular printer.

It is compact and does copy fairly quickly, I like the all in one function, however has jammed with the ink cartridge door and was told the ink would last longer than previous printer, however not true. It is actually so far more expensive than the photo printer I had, not happy about that at all. That was the main selling point for me to spend that money for the printer. This is what I was told from the salesperson and what was printed on the box. It is also very noisy when printing.

We use the printer to print letters and reports, scan documents and make copies. We don't use it to fax The only two things I've noticed is that it could be a touch faster and it's rather noisy. Still, nothing has been delayed because of its print speed and it was a good price for the service we receive.

I have gone threw many other printers and I was the type of person who would only pay $100 to $175 on a new printer. I needed to get a fax and I thought that I would buy this HP all in one, now at the the time I thought that the price was a little bit to high for me but after getting it home and using it, WOW, I think I would have payed more for this printer. It is by far the BEST , the FASTEST , and it doesn't use very much ink at all. I could go on and on about this printer all in one, but I will leave it at that. It sells it's self.

The feeder should be removed as it is quickly rendered useless.
After only a dozen uses it jammed and broke. Afterwards it could only scan or fax by placing page on glass.
It cannot be repaired. Hp knows it is junk and has added decals warning about wrinkled paper and staples etc.
Even their more expensive color lasers have the same feeder.
I had an older officejet D-145 that could have feeder user-replaced by disconnecting old one and reconnecting new one in a couple of minutes. I never needed to because of better construction and function.
The honest thing to do would be to pull all stock of all printers with this feeder off the shelf, refund in full and create better product.
    I'm not holding my breath!

HP's driver set provided with this unit DO NOT work with the unit. You have to install them, then call HP tech support who will direct you to another set of drivers for a completely different machine. It's a 255 MB download, and leaves a printer installed on your computer that you don't own in addition to the 7680. I wish we had the old HP back.

Plus HP adds tons of extra software that you don't need for professional use. Some home users might appreciate it though.

It prints quickly, and seems to function well enough once it's installed, but I've seen a few of these models (including the one on the showroom floor) with a broken ink cartridge door.

This is a great printer, and just for 1 user is easy to setup. But when you try the network part, it take a lot of time. I expended about 1 day adding the software to my 5 computers at home. The CD in the package doesn't work right and some computers won't read it. I had to download a 300+ MB file to avoid using the CD.
HP NEEDS TO REVISE THE INSTALLATION PROCESS.

I bought this HP all-in-one to replace my C6180 that died 25 days out of warranty. Thankfully I had extended warranty coverage through my credit card. This is a large machine with many features. The best feature is DUPLEXING for copying, printing, and scanning. It prints photos better than my former C6180 Photoprinter. The paper tray holds about half a ream of paper. The plastic parts seem a little flimsy; I expected higher quality on this level of machine. It is louder than my prior machine. Perhaps due to the extra space required for the duplexer. It has a 7500 page per month duty cycle, which is more than enough for our requirements. So far so good.

Used daily for copying, scanning, faxing and printing. This one replaced an HP 7210 printer and seems to be much faster and economical with ink usage. I especially like having 4 separate cartridges.

It has been in use for approximately 3 months with no issues. The only complaint I currently have is that several of the plastic components are very flimsy (even flimsier than the HP 7210!).

I have had this machine for three months. Already, the duplexer won't work. The machine is very noisy and slow to respond to the print command. Some parts are flimsy. Heavy weight paper often won't feed and sometimes jams the machine. It is the worst machine I ever have had and, certainly, not worthy of the name Hewlett Packard.

I fully expect to junk this machine before the end of the year and purchase a Canon.

This is fourth HP so was very excited to get "new reliable fast" model. From day one, it would not talk to one of the computers on the network. Was on phone with HP two weeks almost solid & finally got it to work--two days & then back to no recognition. Not worth hassle. Scanner completely skips pages when scanning with document feeder. When using document feeder, must watch over otherwise it will not feed correctly--either 3 pages at a time or none at all. Do NOT waste your money on this machine. Am going to replace this summer as it is a dust catching eyesore!

I am very displeased with my L7680 copier. I do not need a fax so do not use it. Every copier, printer seems to have that now. Why?

The machine will stop after printing three to ten pages and checks the machine which "may take several minutes" and it does. Then it cancels the print job that I have asked it to do. So I must restart that. Disgusting.

It stops printing often and says it is letting the ink dry. DUH!!

Then the duplexing does not print the whole page on the second side. It makes long lines of nothing about 3 inches from the bottom of that side. Ruins a lot of paper and time.

I cancel the print job, then it continues to print a lot of figures at the top of several pages until I get to it to remove the paper. It just doesn't do what it is told. And it is a miserable machine to use.

Had very high hopes for this machine. I had Officejets in the past and they worked flawlessly. This machine is very finicky. It has to be plugged directly into the wall. No extension cords. It has to use USB2.0, and even then, it has problems. Everytime I restarted my pc, it would not recognize the printer. If I disconnected the usb, then reconnected it, then it would see the printer and work fine. After 2 weeks on the phone with HP, I had no choiuce but to take it back. I now have the Cannon Pixma MX850. Awesome machine.

This is our fourth HP printer replacing an old 960C. Immediately put the Pro L7680 to work after purchase. We printed a recipe book ninety pages on double sides. We had very few jams, which were easily fixed. We printed four days about 6 hours per day. We really put it to the test right off the bat. We have copied, printed, and scanned without problems. We like it. It is quite and fast. Double sided is a little slower, it took 21 minutes to print 50 ccpies. Single sided is fast at 34 copies a minute. I would recommend it.

I am on my third machine. The feeder has been a big issue for me. The top feeder tray allows papers to skew when being fed which caused a lot of jams until finally the machine would not slide papers thru the feeder. The girls in the office were frustrated. The bottom feeder, which allows for the duplex printing garbled up papers in the back of the unit. When you take the paper out if there is the smallest piece of paper remaining, it will continue to cause jam issues. On this last one I have left the packing tape on the top feeder foot to keep the foot inplace so the papers seem to feed better. I have had now for about 3 weeks and that part seems better. And after the first 3 days it does not seem to be jamming as much…Fingers crossed. Good for medium users. When its working..its awesome..

Love this machine, and my mom and sister-in-law were so impressed they each bought one too.Best feature: high speed draft mode, double sided - saves paper and sips ink! When doing big 2-sided copy jobs it can only collate about 6 pages at a time due to memory limits. This is not a problem, all you have to do is take the finished pages out of the machine and load the next batch.Double sided is definately slower, but I love saving paper.Learned from a reveiw [...]. The OCR scan only works with a hard-wired connection, not over a wireless network. Not really a problem, I have both wireless and USB drivers on my laptop, and switch to the USB cable for OCR functions. These are all minor limitation to what is an amazingly powerful machine for its size and price.
