I use this for large volume printing as a backup to my inkjet all-in-one which drinks ink. I was able to find toner from alternate supplier online which halves the cost of toner refills. It is a little slow to print first page. I got it with a $150 rebate (Mastercard gift card) so the total price was less than $99. Lots of people like the 315N of this model for its sleeker footprint but printer specifications seem the same and it uses different toner cartridges and I could not find alternate supplier on line.
For price with rebate, unbeatable deal.

I am concerned about the heat generated at the rear of the printer even when not being used. Heat means energy consumption. I shut the machine down when not in use.

This printer has good color and speed but jams way too frequently. Every time I use it I end up with four times as much paper in my trash can as I get in my out box. Don't waste your time with this product.

Samsung product quality is low and they take little responsibiity for it. Mine spent the first 60 days of a 90 day warranty in Samsung repair. When I got it back, it broke once again after 30 days. This time Samsung said the unit was out of warranty (both their 90-day warranty and their 30-day "bench" warranty) although I was in possession of a working unit less that 30 days. I will NEVER buy Samsung again.

The Samsung Color Laser printer is an alternate printer I use from time to time and I bought it mainly because of the small footprint and affordability.

I needed a color laser printer for my small business so that I could print official documents clearly with our company logo/header in color. I also needed to be able to test-print our designs and layouts before sending them to the customers/print houses. I haven't run out of ink yet (the printer has been in use for a few weeks now), but since our company logo/header uses a lot of bright blue, I expect to run out of cyan toner first, which is why I wanted a laser printer with separate toner cartridges for cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
So far this printer has worked great!

I have had to exchange this printer several times, regardless of where I purchased it! It seems to only work for a short time (if at all) then it's done. Between the smell of burning, long warm-up time and all of the clicking/noises when it's printing I can't get much done with this printer.

The only alert is the printer refuses to run from a USB port addition. Apparently it must be the only device on the computer's USB outlet? I really liked the Samsung online printer diagnoses tool. It helped me get the printer running after I moved it to another USB outlet on my computer. Remember this is an economy class printer: if you remember that you will be as pleased as I am. I can't comment on toner consumption: I've only had the printer not quite two weeks.

Haven't used it yet for photos. Also, can't comment yet on toner use. It takes about 15 seconds to start up, and has a small paper capacity. But this is petty nitpicking. For home or home office use, it's perfection. Set-up took about 10 minutes, and it's not much bigger than an ink jet.

This is a resonably good color printer, it is quiet and reliable, with an innovative toner cartridge design. However I feel compelled to give a warning to prospective buyers who may be attracted to this printer because of the rebate offer. Samsung has a reputation for not honoring printer rebates (check online !!). When I purchased my CLP-300 there was a [$] rebate advertised. I applied, submitted all the required paper work but never got the rebate !!. When I call the rebate center they asked me to submit non-existing information from the box/ packaging. I have heard similar comments from others. Buyer beware. Good product dishonest .. company. [...]

We purchased the printer for home project use and it works well for that. Toner does go down "heavy" and there does not seem to be a place to adjust. We have only had for a month or so, and it has worked well for our uses to date.

This is a very nice printer at a very nice price.
I read many reviews before buying this product, so I was somewhat concerned with the print quality. Those concerns were misplaced as the print quality from this printer is excellent. Much better than any inkjet printer. I print a lot of text, and it is crisp and neat. I also print color brochures for a my small business, and these are also perfect. I have not tried to print any color photos on photo paper, so I cannot comment on that.
The printer is relatively small and quiet. My only complaint is that it is slow. Not inkjet slow, but not what I expected from a laser printer either.
I have two Macs, one with OS 10.5.4, one with OS 10.4.11 and a Windows XP laptop and they all work fine with this printer.

Waited a long time for an economical color laser printer. Easy to set up and seemed solidly built. Printing is good, both color and B&W. Takes quite a while to cycle up and each print takes a while to get through the path. Sounds like crunching paper but it comes out okay. Noisy, too, but I can live with it. The worst thing (but seems to be common among laser printers) is the ANNOYING alert beep that sounds every minute or so after making a print. It stops after five times or so but can't figure how to turn it off.

I bought this printer to replace an older, non-color Samsung laser. I like how quiet this printer is, just wish it were more versitile, but for the money, it does a fine job for my needs.

I bought it brand new a month ago but only tried to use it this week. The first time I turned the power on, it's not working. The status light turned red beacuse of "internal error". The store did not accept the return since I've had this for more than 2 weeks and now I'm still waiting for technician to repair the unit.

Incredible value since store was running an "easy rebate" on this product. I utilize my printer daily for work related (education) printing and always have at least one back-up printer in case something goes wrong. This is now my default printer... excellent color for my purposes... clear and vibrant. Would definitely purchase again. Sometimes jams when printing on card stock.

For the price it can't be beat. [$]. Does a good job on black text though letters are a bit chunky- over tonered. Colored text and charts have a noticeable "bleed" and lack of sharpness. It is what it is. If you're looking to process professional looking layouts this is not your printer. If it's nice to print out maps and charts in color and have a quick color option it's for you. Obviously not for photos- it won't rival any inkjet on a photo print-off.Size is super-small. Printer is very quiet for a color laser. Auto-shutdown saves electricity- printer sleeps by itself when not used. Print quality is maybe 2/5 stars. Black quality is 4/5 stars- turned down the density and got better black prints and saved toner! Generic toners are available online cheap. Price is so low that when larger consumables (photoconductor, etc) go out I'll probably just throw the printer out!

I use this printer to print charts and graphs. I also use it to print some text + color pages some images too.The resolution is not the best even on black and white text. My black and white printer works better, I received what I expected. I f I want better resolution then I will just have to pay $600+ instead of the [$]I paid after rebates on this one. In short not the best color laser out there, but for the price you can’t find a better deal. If you want to print pictures go to [...]or print them at staples its cheaper than print on your own no matter what printer you have.

We use the printer for every day printing. When the school year starts it will be used to print things for my wife's classroom.
I was afraid that the printer would jam frequently as it did jam on the very first piece of paper that went through it but hasn't jammed since.
The quality is not as good as the Epson Inkjet printer that I have in regards to photo resolution but is good for every day quality and flyers, although it will produce fair to good photo quality.

I use the Samsung ML-2510 printer for the black and white printing since it is 24ppm. The CLP300 is an excellent printer which is used only for Color printing. Very easy on Toner.

This product was very simple to set up, is simple to use, and has a small footprint. The print time seems fast for having to make three passes. The color images are nice but not as vivid as those from an inkjet. I am expecting that this will be offset by the lower cost of consumables.

Great price, compact design, and easy setup. However, the print quality isn't great. The color will not print correctly even after calibration and the color edges are always blurry.
For quick or rough color prints (internal use), this printer works great. But for professional presentation, I will not recommend it.

Very nice value for the price. It will take a long time to warm up as most lasers do, then printing speed is acceptable. Color graphics and text are first rate.

If you want great looking color, buy a more expensive color laser. I got this one on sale with a rebate. This printer works fine for the occasional map or web page printing that needs color. The colors are not faithfully reproduced and there is some color banding. Some of this can be corrected with color adjustments. None of the shortcomings matter to me, so I am happy with the printer. It is fairly small, too.

I use this product for my home graphic design business. While I output proofs from this printer, they're not great enough quality to distribute as "the real thing". However, with the rebate, this offer is hard to beat! I'd purchase another one!

I use this printer to make posted signs for my business hours for holidays or special events. Some do-it-yourself flyers and poster. Comes in handy, it will pay for itself fast at the price I got it for. Great budget advertisement machine.

I use it everyday to print professional text documents, and it does as good a job as the big office printer we use...although a bit slower. It really shines as a photo printer, providing vivid colors and sharp details. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't need a fast printer; especially for the price.

I use this printer mostly for black & white documents. What a mistake! Although I rarely print in color, all three color cartridges have run out in the last year--and some more than once. When a cartridge runs out, the printer won't print at all, even though you don't need that color. I'm going back to a basic b&w laser printer. What a rip off.
