How long will it take for my ink to arrive?

When you place your first InkDrop order, your cartridges will arrive within 1-4 business days. When you use your InkDrop envelopes to reorder, your ink will arrive about 5 business days after we receive your empty cartridges.

When will I receive my InkDrop envelopes/labels?

Approximately 2-3 business days after you receive your first InkDrop Order, you will receive your InkDrop envelopes and/or labels.

When do I enter my payment shipping information.

Enter this information when you place your first order. We'll save it for furture orders you place using your prepaid envelopes.

How do I know what will be in my replacement order?

When you send us your empty cartridges using the prepaid InkDrop envelopes and labels, we will send you back replacements for the exact model numbers and quantities you sent. For example: You send us one empty HP 57 tricolor ink cartridge and one empty HP 56 black ink cartridge. You can expect to receive one new HP 57 tricolor ink cartridge and one new HP 56 black ink cartridge.

Can I track my order?

You can track your InkDrop order by going to "My Orders" or "Order Status."

What happens to the empty cartridges that I send back?

When you send us an empty cartridge, we automatically send you a brand new replacement, unless you check the "recycle only" box. We then make sure your old cartridge gets recycled.

What happens if I send back a cartridge that isn't in the program?

We will contact you to give you replacement options that are in the program, or assist you in ordering one right from staples.com®.

If I enroll by phone, can I place my first order at staples.com? If I enroll on staples.com, can I place my first order by phone?

No. Please place your first order the same way you enrolled.

How does InkDrop work if I purchase twin packs?

With InkDrop, we send you the exact quantity and model number of what you have mailed back to us. If you send one empty cartridge, we will send you one replacement. If you send both empties from a twin pack, we will send you a replacement twin pack.

It is recommended that you send both cartridges to get the added savings of a twin pack. If you plan to do this, it is a good idea to stock up on multiple twin packs. That way, when you send your empties, you won't be without cartridges while you're waiting for your replacement twin pack.

What if I want to reorder a different cartridge from the one I'm returning?

Simply place an order on staples.com for the different cartridge. Then send us your old cartridge and check the "recycle only" box.

What if I change printers and need to update which cartridges are shipped to me?

It's simple. Just check to make sure your cartridges are part of InkDrop. Then send us your empty cartridge using your prepaid InkDrop envelope or label as you normally would.

What if I want to order other items in addition to my ink cartridge?

Just send us the cartridge using your prepaid InkDrop envelope or label, and we'll send you a replacement. Then place an order on staples.com for the rest of the items.

What if I need extra ink for a large print job?

The best thing to do is place an order on staples.com for multiple cartridges.

What if I want to recycle my empty cartridge but don't need a replacement?

On every InkDrop envelope and label there is a check box. You can use it to let us know not to send you a replacement, but to recycle what you send.

Do my InkDrop cartridge purchases count toward Staples Rewards?

Yes, as long as you're a Staples Rewards member and as long as your Staples Rewards customer number is linked to your staples.com account. If your number is not linked, visit the "Change Account Info" section on staples.com. Currently InkDrop is not associated with the $3 in-store recycling program. However, we make it easy by prepaying postage and recycling your cartridges for FREE.

What if I lose my return envelopes/labels?

  • Go to www.staples.com/inkdrop.
  • If you need to send your cartridge right away, click on "Print return label."
  • If you don't need to send your cartridge right away, click on "Request labels or envelopes" and we'll send you new ones.

When will my InkDrop prepaid envelopes and labels arrive?

Your initial supply of envelopes and labels will arrive 2-3 business days after you receive your first InkDrop cartridge order. When you request envelopes and labels on the Web site, you can expect to get your envelopes in about the same time frame.

What do I do if I need more InkDrop prepaid labels or envelopes?

  • Go to www.staples.com/inkdrop.
  • Click "Request labels or envelopes." Then choose type and quantity and we'll send you what you need.
  • If you'd rather print a label yourself, just click "Print return label."

How much will I pay for a cartridge that I reorder via InkDrop?

You'll pay the same low price you pay on staples.com.

Which credit cards do you accept? Is my credit card information secure?

Currently we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover Network, American Express, and the Staples Credit Card. Your credit card information is 100% safe and secure. If you'd like to learn more about how we keep our Web site safe for shopping, feel free to review our privacy and security statement.

Can I use Staples coupons with my InkDrop orders?

You can use Staples coupons on your first InkDrop purchase or any ink purchase you make on staples.com. Unfortunately, we cannot accept coupons on InkDrop reorders made with the InkDrop prepaid envelopes at this time.

What about special offers I see on the site?

You can take advantage of the special offers you see on staples.com on your first InkDrop purchase or any ink purchase you make on staples.com. Unfortunately, at this time special offers cannot be redeemed on InkDrop reorders made with the InkDrop prepaid envelopes.

Do I earn a $3 coupon for each empty cartridge I send into InkDrop?

With InkDrop, Staples pays for the postage on your return envelopes when we ship you new replacements, so unfortunately no coupons are available at this time.

Are there shipping fees associated with InkDrop?

You get free shipping on your first InkDrop order when you enroll online. When you use your InkDrop envelopes to reorder via US Mail, shipping is free no matter how much your cartridge costs.

How do I opt out of the program?

There are two ways to cancel InkDrop. You can go to the InkDrop profile page and click on "Cancel Enrollment." Or, simply stop using the envelopes. Either way, you won't be in the InkDrop program any more, and you'll still be able to shop staples.com. Please note: There may be instances where we receive an empty cartridge and send the replacement before cancellation. If this happens and you don't want the cartridge, call 1-800-STAPLES (1-800-782-7537) to return the unopened package.
