I've been a full time Realtor for over 20 years, and push a lot of pen (more every year). Clear, no mess documents are important to a successful career. This pen provides that. It's my 1st choice, all the time. That's why I buy the refills 6 or 8 at a time.

leaked ink -- will not buy again

This refillcartridge has a short life which I knew from previous experiences. I liked the feel, though, even though the ink would sometimes smear. This time the refill actually leaked -- I think where the pointy part meets the cartridge. I cleaned it up, but it leaked again and I threw it away, never to buy this refill again.

I have used the Impact pens for my professional document signing for years. They write well, and clean. I have found, however, that from time to time, a pen just quis working- wont make a mark as the ink has dried out, or the tube gets plugged up, and wont dispense the ink. Try as I might to get it to write, when I find a stubborn pen, it wont write. When that happens, I just throw it away, and get out another and replce the one that wont write. Ihave other pens that I use, also, but general use the //Impact pen first.

  The difference between the two refill models is the profile. The Impact and Impact RT have different widths and shapes, the refills will only fit in the correct model pen.

  This is a Gel Impact RT pen refill and may smudge a bit until completely dry.

  Once dry the ink dries it does not smudge, if it is instantly rubbed or touched it may smudge, drying takes about 10 seconds, the ink is "fade and water resistant with archival quality."
