These pens are great for writing on items that are handled immediately or handled continuously, due to the ink locking in and not smearing. Smearing ink is as minimal as I have found in any everyday pen. Everyday to special use.

Around my office, I'm known for being particular about the type of pens I use (i.e. "No More Ball Point Pens!!"). With that said, I really hadn't been a fan of Uni-Ball because most of their pens were either fine point or micro point roller balls that didn't make marking and signing documents easy. Imagine my surprise when I saw these pens on the Staples website. I ordered a box and........I like them!!! It's almost like writing with a ball point pen! The bold point is not too wide or messy. It's a nice even smooth flow. The only drawback - the barrel and 'grip' are rather slippery/too smooth. So this may not be pen you use all day, but would be a nice addition to have around your office.
