Apparel Boxes Come in Sizes Suitable for All Types of Clothing
Boxes for presenting clothing and accessory apparel must be small or large enough to accommodate a range of clothing items, from ties and gloves to jackets and suits. Clothes boxes will range anywhere from 8 x 8 inches for handkerchiefs to 17 x 11 inches for robes, and all the way up to 24 x 14 inches for coats, with more than a dozen sizes in between. The depth of the boxes also varies widely to accommodate the compact or bulky size of different clothing articles, from just 7/8 of an inch to more than 4 inches in depth.

Apparel Boxes Have Two Types of Lids
The lids for these boxes come either as either separate pieces or as attached extensions of the boxes. The detached lids are also called telescoping lids, since they have to slide over the perimeter of the boxes. The detached lids sometimes have thumb cutouts on their bottom edge to make them easier to lift from the box. Attached lids have notched pre-folds and pre-cut flaps so they can be fitted over the box easily and snugly. Many boxes and their lids have a series of folds and creases so they can be packaged and shipped flat in bulk, but are easy enough to unfold individually to full container size.

What Kind of Material Are Apparel Boxes Made From?
Most boxes for clothing and accessory apparel consist of fiberboard, paper board, or reinforced paper. Boxes made from board are sturdier, taking on the rigidity and consistency of thin cardboard. Paper-based boxes consist of several layers to give them the added strength they need to function as clothes containers. Some of the sturdier paper-based boxes consist of heavy-duty brown Kraft-style paper. Many manufacturers now use a high percentage of post-consumer content to construct their boxes, and most of the boxes are 100 percent recyclable.

Are Apparel Boxes Available in Different Colors or Patterns?
The primary colors of clothes boxes are white or brown, from the color of Kraft paper. Many boxes are also tinted in a variety of colors, and even all-white or brown boxes can come in either a glossy waxed finish or a matte, brushed finish. Many patterned boxes are also available, including classic pin-striping or floral motifs, as well as boxes with holiday, birthday, or special-occasion themes.

Can Apparel Boxes Be Customized?
Manufacturers of clothes boxes normally can prepare them in bulk with designs requested by commercial customers. Many clothing establishments order bulk boxes with their company logo printed or embossed on the lid.
