FLASHFORGE 3D Printers

3D printers are self-contained production units that can manufacture almost any virtual object imaginable in a variety of materials, from paper to ceramics to plastic. The Flashforge™ 3D printer lets you manufacture plastic objects from models created from 3D modeling application software or 3D scanners and prepared with computer-aided design (CAD) programs. The programs render hundreds or thousands of “slices” of the model into files that FLASHFORGE USA™ 3D printers read from computers to assemble the object layer by layer. Flashforge 3D printers are available for novices and experts, so they're appropriate for the classroom or industrial settings.

The Flashforge 3D Printer Creates Objects Using a Dual-Extrusion Process
3D printers from Flashforge use a material extrusion process to render 3D objects, called fused filament fabrication. The printers accept a spool of filament, primarily ABS and PLA thermoplastics, through a feeder that extrudes the material into a heat chamber, where the material is melted to a useable temperature and forced into a nozzle. The nozzle shoots the material onto a bed that moves laterally on x-axis and y-axis according to the computer file specs of the model. Flashforge 3D printers use two extrusion mechanisms to create objects, so they support two-color "printing" and make it possible to move beyond simple square and spherical rendering to create more free-form shapes. Some of the 3D printers from Flashforge also accept spools of nylon, dissolvable filament, and composite wood and metals to create objects.

The Construction of the Flashforge 3D Printer Supports High-Resolution Rendering
Plastics have to be heated to extreme temperatures in the 3D printers from Flashforge to shape 3D objects. The printers have fully enclosed, insulated heat chambers that not only trap heat efficiently but also prevent ambient dust from entering the chambers during the extrusion process. The printers also have warp-resistant, dense metal build beds that can withstand the extreme heat, as well as z-axis guide rods that stabilize the vertical movement of objects as they’re being built. All of these features give 3D Flashforge printers the robustness required for precise object positioning, to 0.0001 inch on the z-axis and 0.0004 inch on the x-plane and y-plane. The printer can render objects at a high, 100-micron layer resolution, with distinct peaks and troughs.

What Size Objects Can You Create With the Flashforge 3D Printer?
3D printers are designed to render objects that may actually be interlocking pieces of a larger object. 3D printers from Flashforge provide ample depth, height, and width dimensions to create these scalable objects. Build sizes range from 5.9 to 9.1 inches in height, 5.5 to 8.9 inches in depth, and around 5.8 inches in width.
