Quilling, has been around for hundreds of years. The Art of quilling or coiling and shaping of small strips of paper to create a pattern or design dates back to the Egyptian times. Sources say that during the Renaissance, nuns and monks would roll gold-guilded paper remnants trimmed during the bookmaking process, and use them to decorate religious objects as an alternative to costly gold filigree. In later centuries the art of quilling became a favorite pastime for European ladies who would decorate household items with quilling techniques. The art got it's name due to the use of bird's feathers (quill) to coil the paper upon. The art found its way to America with the pilgrims. Today, quilling is still practiced throughout the globe as an art form. Our cards are handcrafted in Vietnam by artists who practice the skill and joy of creating these three dimensional greeting cards. Don't just send a card, send art!
