The CoorsTek crucible cover is made of porcelain and glazed, with the exception of the rim, for adequate fitting. With a resistance to heat, this lid is used to contain material that may splatter during heating. This crucible cover is 54 millimeters in diameter and is slightly wider than the crucible, for easy release of gas during melting or heating. This cover also prevents the material from escaping while efficiently releasing the gas build up. Available individually, it is designed to withstand hi gh temperatures, the maximum being 1,150 degrees Celsius. This crucible cover also prevents issues such as: contamination of material, accidents involving burns, and oxidation of certain materials.
