Died in 14 months
Dead from the Epson update. 14 months old has lived in a nice home, never moved from time of taking it out of the box. First replaced cartridge after the update it failed to recognize the ink, dumped from all inks, stopped printing. Customer service finally offered 15% off a new machine. Independent Authorized service threw them under the bus, suggested do not buy th...

Hello Robert, the Epson P700 is designed to use only genuine Epson-brand ink cartridges. Other brands of ink cartridges, and ink supplies, are not compatible, and even if described as compatible, may not function properly. From time to time, Epson updates its firmware to ensure the printer operates as designed. Epson provides information about the design of the printer on the box, as well as many other locations, including materials shipped with the printer.
