Staples Cause for Caring and U.S. Retail Share Fund

The Staples Cause for Caring fund and U.S. Retail Share Fund are programs founded by employees and funded by employee and corporate contributions. Each offers relief for employees in need of severe financial assistance for qualifying events like natural disasters, housing assistance, funerals, domestic abuse and other circumstances beyond their control.

Thanks to donations collected over the years, over $6,000,000 in grants have changed the lives of thousands of employees since 2013.

In addition to offering financial assistance to employees in need, Staples Cause for Caring, Inc. is also committed to extending our charitable giving to communities in which we operate, via partnerships with strategic non-profit organizations.

Businesses of all sizes can register within the Community Business Directory to connect with other local business owners in their area, engage with current and prospective customers and gather tips to help them learn and grow. Since launching, the Community Business Directory has seen 30,000 registrations.

Community Giveback Program

Since 2021, Staples stores have given customers the option to purchase a donation kit filled with school supplies to be donated to a local organization in need. Since the program’s launch, Staples customers have donated 1.5 million kits that have benefited numerous organizations and school systems across the country, showcasing the true power of community.

Recognizing and rewarding teachers

Classroom Rewards provides an opportunity to support local schools every time you shop. Through the program, parents and students can earn 5% back in Classroom Rewards on in-store purchases to give to a local school or teacher. With over 100,000 teachers enrolled and $1.3 million donated, Classroom Rewards is supporting local communities everywhere.

The annual Thank a Teacher program recognizes 20 teachers, nominated by their students and supporters, who have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact. During the Back to School season each year, 20 nominated teachers win $5,000 to spend on classroom supplies for the upcoming school year.
