Finding new clients

Q: Our existing client base has almost exhausted all types of services that we offer (software training and development). How do we go about getting new clients in the same geographic location to market our services to and obtain them as repeat clients?

A: It sounds like you may have two separate challenges.
1. You need to create new services for your existing client base. Often you can discover additional things customers need by having a good long talk with several of them. You might invite six to eight customers to lunch and have an hour–long roundtable discussion. Some very good ideas can come from it.
2. It is time to start prospecting for new customers. Take a look at where most of your current customers are coming from. Are you getting them from businesses? Advertise via direct mail, in the local business section of your daily paper, or in more targeted industry publications. Are you looking for individuals? Reach them with a radio ad campaign. Also look at cheaper cable TV advertising. The cable TV audience is huge right now.
