I went to purchase these the last time they were on sale. They were out of stock but asked if they could call me in 5 days to see if I still wanted to purchase. I asked if they would still honor the sale price (I think it about 45.00 for the three shelf) they said no. I said that I would then be forced to look at their competition if they wouldn't honor the sale price. I'm thrilled that I did because I found these at [...]online at[$] each for the largest size and purchased two for free delivery and because I paid with paypal got 25% back so the total for both was 72-$73. I assembled both and they are very nice looking and sturdy. A great deal! Happy for me but feel bad for Staples as I always try to purchase from them.

[...].Note that the bracket provided is TOO SMALL to physically secure against the wall.. had to spend another $4 to get my own wall fastener.Pain to put together b/c custom shapes do not allow for powertools. Would not buy, based on this reason alone.

The only thing I would change would be the overall width. I thought it would hold much more. Perhaps you can suggest to the manufacturer that they make a wider one to hold more. Offer the 30" model and a 32" or 34" size model.

what can i say...We have been looking for sturdy wood bookcases but they cost a fortune and most are not solid wood..These are solid wood and the price is great! Lots of screws but easy and quick to assemble. The shelves are so thick there is no way they are ever going to sag. great price to start with and if you had online coupons like we did EVEN BETTER price. We bought 4 for our home office and i just ordered 4 more for our home..what a lovely way to FINALLY be able to have a library at a price you can afford.

I needed specific height between shelves & this was perfect. The time to assemble is well worth the effort for a nice end result. Go SLOWLY with the screws but extras are provided if you strip any, which I did trying to hurry with a drill driver bit. Wood is very solid & finished nicely. Unbelievable product for the price [...] makes for a very satisfied consumer.

I work from home, and needed a bookcase that would hold heavy technical manuals and notebooks, so I needed shelfs that were tall, deep and sturdy, but also attractive enough to fit in my home environment. This bookcase fit the bill perfectly.
It took a while to assemble, and it is heavy, but once in place it is plenty sturdy.

Everyone is right in their reviews of this product. My only complaint is that the are some flaws in the finish, but I am a perfectionist. Also if you don't have a drill, the handtightening was time consuming for me. But overall, the nicest for the price that I have seen and I was shopping alot before I bought these.

We already have two of these bookshelves and they were handsome additions to our home. We are now buying two more. We have way too many books and it's nice to be able to display them attractively. For this price, I used to buy [...] bookshelves (Billy) which are so plain and characterless. These are a good color and overall the design is pleasant to look at.

I bought 6 of these units in the lighter stain and am very pleased. I had purchased, assembled, used (for only a few months), and have now discarded the Target variety units made of composite wood. The Target shelves would not support the weight of the books and all were bowing.
A few of the screws did not seat perfectly on one unit and it is a bit wobbly - but I will use this for my paperbacks. Certainly, if assembling more than one unit, you want to have a power drill.
To remove the objectionable large white warranty sticker on the top shelf I used Goo-Gone and it worked perfectly without damaging the wood. I dribbled in on the entire sticker, waited 5 minutes, and pulled the sticker off easily with no sticky residue.

This is a great looking and solid addition to any room or area. Great for books and collectibles. The cherry finish and beveled edges on the shelves give a rich look. Solid wood means no sagging shelves and easy to move. Fairly easy to assemble and even includes spare (instead of the dreaded missing) parts! Catch it during a half price sale and it's a steal, but it's still a bargain at the full price. Use Goo Gone or similar product to remove that waranty sticker (or patiently peel v e r y slowly) before assembly and you'll be all set.

I bought one last week and was very pleased after putting it together. Like another reviewer, I was surpised that the huge warranty sticker was on the bottom of the top shelf, and it was impossible to pull it off. I took it out to the garage, sprayed WD-40 on the label and let it soak for 30 mins. It then peeled off in one try. I wiped it down thoroughly to remove any trace of the oil, and it looked perfect. I used a ratchet wrench with the correct sized hex head socket, which made my assembly pretty smooth. Still, it will assemble fine with the included hex head wrench. When I got it finished, I was really impressed. It matches the cherry finish on the other furniture items in my home office perfectly. The shelves are not deep; I have some big ring binders that stick out 1-2", but this is not a concern. Every book, even large hard cover home improvement books, etc. fit fine on the shelves. I also want to add that the shelves do not appear to sag at all, even when full loaded. This must be because they are solid wood. I have a similarly sized bookcase at my office that I bought to match some similar furniture; that bookshelf was about [$] and the construction was wood veneer, and the shelves totally sag in the center.

This went together nicely, though it would have been easier if I'd had a 2nd person helping. It's not as deep a red as I would have liked (I bought online), but it is attractive. Problem: the company glued the warranty to the bottom of the mantle piece that goes on the top. Since that's quite high, it's an aberrant white patch on otherwise nice solid wood. Granted, you have to be very very short or seated to look up and see it on the bottom of that top piece, but it would have been much better placed elsewhere.
