These are great for storing books and general decorating. I bought several for my office and they look great and have held up remarkably well (have for ~ 7 months). Bought more to create a built-in look for the living room. Very pleased with overall product. I would agree that they are not work the full price, since it's just particleboard and laminate, but on sale, they are a steal and well-worth stocking up. Very attractive and sturdy. Also, be prepared for how heavy they are - great for long-term use, but a bit of a shocker when trying transport. I'd recommend purchasing online unless you have a truck or large van - these are too long for most cars (7') and more than a couple would likely dent the car roof.

When I read "Wooden Bookcase" I naively believed that was what I was buying. In reality this is pressed wood with Melamine finish. The backing is cardboard (seriously)! I have never experienced that before! This construction, even for the low price of [$]was not in my estimation, a "good buy".

We needed 7 bookcases for our new craft room.
What we found out was even if you purchased
the book cases at the same time, they were from different lots or factories. The bookcases were
different shades of white and the holes varied
from bookcase to bookcase for shelf placement
(Some bookcases had 2X the holes for shelf placement as others)

These are great for kids stuff or garage organization. I wouldn'g display them as fine furniture, but they will do the job for that extra storage. We received one shelf unit broken and they sent another one out a.s.a.p. The material is laminated pressboard so it has some dings and dents after a while with use. They were pretty easy to put together and very heavy. I would buy them again.

Best Uses:

I bought two sets of shelves last week and filled them with books as they are bookshelves. The bookshelves with the smaller books are doing okay. The bookshelves with the larger books are already bowed. The shelves would not be bad if you just have smaller, lighter books. I have a lot of textbooks and large cookbooks.
