You can not make folders or albums to file the photos. Can not find the photo you want without watching all of them. There is software that will do this, but will not support this product. Very unhappy that the software is so bad.
My family and friends enjoy viewing photo's while we sit and chat. Instead of leafing thru numerous albums by hand the frame does this effortlessly. Everyone should have one!
Loaded 700 images onto a 256mb compact flash card and the family now has the opportunity to see 7 years of digital photographs. It took time to resize the images in the computer, but a smaller file loads very quickly. I did spend a lot of time putting the images into chronological order, only to have the frame display out of sequence.
This frame's display is very sharp, crisp and clear. It can be viewed from an angle without losing this quality. Why is this so important? There is always more than one person viewing it at one time.
This was for a gift. Wife loved it and would tell all to buy.
It is really a good product for the price. But parts are cheap. Digital Images are excellant without loosing any picture quality
I loaded all my pictures on a jump drive and this works very well since the memory capcity is very small. I would recommend this digital frame. It was an excelent purchase on Black Friday. The size of the picture is great. Some photos get cut when maximized for the display but nothing I can't work around.
This was purchased at the one day after Thanksgiving sale and I wish now I had bought two. It has great software, great display and you can load up to 2000 photos into the frames memory using their compression software.
EXELEN FOR FAMILY AND PARNERS MEMORY
Exellent product. Remember to use their software stored in 128MB internal memory to transfer photos from computer to the frame. This will give the best result.
When it comes to digital picture frames, Bigger is Better! This 11.3" is a great size, not too big to be obtrusive and not too small to see details.
This is a nice frame and I got it at a great price on Black Friday- saved 50%!! My only complaint is that the image display is very bright, which washes out the colors. None of the settings can correct this problem.
But, overall, I am still glad I bought it. It has gotten lots of compliments as well. For the price I paid, it is worth it. However, for full price I think you could get a better display with another product.
I bought for a gift and thankfully tried it before Christmas. The frame could display a small number of pictures but any memory card with 50+ pictures would freeze the frame. I ended up getting my money back and bought an Insight from [...]
Sits on my mantle in place of the many frames that were there.
I originally bought the frame for a gift, but after playing with it I had to keep it for myself. This frame is awesome. I bought it on sale for [$]. The other frames in that price range are so tiny. I enjoy standing across the room and enjoying watching a slide show of my kid's pictures.
This product is better than Dynex 9" which i had purchased on Thanks Giving from [...].The display is bigger with 11.3" hence larger visual. The resolution could have been bit more better. Also due to wooden frame this is bit heavy! But I am happy with the purchase for [$] compared to Dynex 9" for $80.Remote works great and so does the background music.Good product for the price i paid!! Similar products with these specs cost more than $150 !!!
Good frame for the given price.
Unfortunatly it does not support mp3 format for the audio.
Power adapter works only for 110V as opposed to 110-240.
Have not tried video yet.
This frame just frustrated me. First, it wouldn't work, plug and play. I tried to take my SD card out and plug it in and view photos, but that wouldn't work. Then I used their software to convert my photos, which took forever, and it just sat there on the first picture. It did this on two different frames. So , I wouldn't recommend this fram to anyone.
This was bought for me as a gift from my husband. I LOVE it and so does everyone who comes into my home. It sits on my end table in my living room and is the 1st thing that everyone notices when they come in the front door, and they ALWAYS stop to watch the pictures as they roll through the slide show. I love the fact that you can use different size/type memory sticks as well as USB Flash drives, for I use different camera's that use differnt type memory sticks. And they ALL work in this frame. The ONLY negative thing that I can find about it is that the Internal memory could be larger in size. Doesn't hold a lot of pictures for those of us who take their photo's in a higher resolution and don't have external memory sticks in their camera's. Other than that issue, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
We purchased this for my invalid father-in-law, for his enjoyment and entertainment. It is working out great. We have two memory cards - one in it, and one we can update with more photos. I highly recommend this as a gift for the homebound.
Buttons don't always work when pressed. Start from beginning. Bought this for my 94 year old mother-in-law. Mounted the unit on the wall, loaded with photos of family to replace individual photos on her dresser. She loves it and I can update it easily with new photos.
I had been comparison shopping for one of these for weeks and saw my neighbor had one of these, I liked it so well I bought myself one and my dad one. Easy to use. Probably not as crisp a picture as some of the very pricey ones, but for size and quality was a great value! One recommendation use internal memory, external cards makes it very slow.
I actually returned this product after a few days. Image was very grainy and had a poor contrast.
This item was bought as a Christmas gift for my Mom who has throusands of photos jammed into photo albums which seldom are looked at. It took about three hours to load one of the albums into the digital frame - approximately two hundred photos. It used less than 10% of a one gig SD. Once loaded the photos flipped through and could be paused with the remote as an explaination of the photo was given. Everyone could see the photo being discussed. Mom loved the gift and we've bought another smaller one for ourselves.
this frame is so much clearer than smaller ones. The pictures look wonderful and it was easy to use! I recommend it to everyone.
easy to use, the Video extension not common
Though this frame is certainly not of high definition resolution, it is perfect for display of family photos. Oh, by the way, a high definition 11" frame will cost about 3x more. GREAT buy again Staples.
Works great but the instructions were a bit unclear. Fortunately, we had another brand that included the complete instructions that we needed. Frame is very drab, but the pictures look good.
Grandkids & Greats 12 each.
Five stars all the way!!!
I bought one for home and one for displaying student artwork. I couldn't be more pleased. Great image and very large. Even better I got it on sale!
The sale price, the quality, the size, the user friendly, were all fantastic qualities.
cons you have been out of stock-- since christmas and I want to buy another one or two--- hopefully you will have them again and at a sale price!
it sits in our living room... turn it on and it runs all day. Read the instructions, then it is easy to use.
Loaded approx 500 pics and seems to hold those just FINE
I purchased this frame and the picture was fuzzy. I returned it and got another. Same problem, and this time there was a black mark under the screen. I returned it a second time for a refund. On the box it shows that the screen was refurbished, but was not advertised that way. I was very disappointed!
REMOTE DOES NOT RESPOND /RUNS SLIDESHOW QUICKLY
BUT BOTH REMOTE AND CONTROLS ON UNIT DO NOT RESPOND ALL THE TIME THE REMOTE IS GOOD FOR ON/OFF ONLY NOTHING ELSE OTHERWISE UNIT IS SOLID BUILT AND A GOOD VALUE WHEN ON SALE WILL TRY TO CONTACT MFG FOR HELP POSSABLY CHANGE REMOTE
Unable to install the software and there is no tech support.
I received this frame for christmas, I will had buy the top rate smartpad to avoid this problems.
Picture quality is very poor.
I received this yesterday as a christmas gift but can"t figure out how to get it to play the videos from my memory stick pro duo I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING [...]
The USB could not be recognized by my PC (Win XP, very clean machine). I had no problems putting photos on an SD card and having them show, but the USB connection failed to work. I don't believe it is my PC as other connected devices work fine.
The picture isn't extremely crisp, but it is a very good value for the money. The larger screen is attractive.
It is very difficult to locate the manufactures website. If you are having trouble with the slideshow / large number of pictures; be sure to update the firmware [@]This cleared up all the problems I had with this otherwise great frame!
I bought this frame, not realizing it's a [...]rebranding of a generic product. I found the exact same HW at [...] as a Westinghouse model. This Omnitech has a refurbished LCD, which is not listed in the ads but is in small print on the back of the box. The slideshow feature is utterly unworkable, freezing if you have too many photos on the media card. The limit is hard to determine, as the size of the files will likely influence it. AVI support doesn't work, either. However, I had problems with a 2GB SD that had less than 1.5GB of photos. Since some folks seem to like this product and haven't seen the issues tells me the product quality control is extremely poor, and/or there are multiple software versions in the units. [...]
the first one had dead pixels, but it seemed to work. returned that one and got another. it simply did not work. froze up, would only show one image. too bad, because this was a good price. by the way, the refurbished screen is stated on the box, but in a way that is hard to notice. not consumer friendly

We ordered an optimus 7", smartparts 8" and this Omni. The optimus can not support a compact flash card, the smartparts has poor resolution and the pictures appear very dark. This frame is priced well and has a great display.
Great frame for the money , its very well constructed. i brought a 8" inch unit at BB last year for twice the money and this is a much better frame. I've read the negative reviews and I have not had any problems. have not tried video files yet tho. But I've used a 2gb SD and a 1gb xd card and both were over 75% full and have had no problems. You do have to put quality images in to get good crisp pictures because it is a wide frame, so if you reduce the zoom to standard size your pictures will not be distorted. Great frame for the price only paid[$]
Picked this up Black Friday and was pleasantly surprised by the undocumented features.
The large screen makes it great for hanging on a wall or putting on bookshelf, but its low resolution and large size wouldn't be good for a desk, though.
The slideshow works well, but more options/control for the background music would be welcome.
I haven't tried any videos yet.
Low price for the size but you get what you pay for...slideshow won't work! [...]
i got this and traded it back in - the picture quality was horrid - i got a kodak 8 inch and am much more pleased with it

My Vista PC recognized and installed the removable media drives but could not read them. This meant the internal memory could not display the software that was stored on it nor could I save anything to the drives. My XP PC recognized and installed the drives and was able to read them and save files to them.I was able to install photos via the optimization software and view them one at a time but not as a slide show. I had loaded 700+ photos well below the 2000 advertised. I rebooted the frame hoping to fix the issue. When it came back up it was frozen on one image and would not go into setup and neither the Vista nor the XP PC's would recognize it.The advertising images of the frame are skewed and do not show a true representation of the screen format. It is a wide screen 16x9 and most snapshots are close to a 4x3 format. This means your pictures will be centered in the display with large black bars on both sides and the apparent image size will not be as large as it would be on a 8" 4x3 digital frame. There is a LOT of wasted screen space with this display.
Very reasonable performance and features, especially if bought on sale (as I did for [$]). I only noticed the 'refurbished display' on carton after a week, but really cannot see any defects. I had to experiment to verify the resolution of 800 by 480. Also learned by trial and error that the slide show photo limit seems to be 750 photo files. It seems more photos are ok so long as you don't use the slide show feature. MP3 files play fine. AVI (Motion JPEG only) files play, but the video at 640x480 30 fps seems a little choppy. I think the frame really expects AVI video at quarter VGA and 15 fps. I was able to plug the SD memory card from my Canon SD200 into the frame and directly display the camera's files. The USB connection to the PC is really funky and I could not get it to work reliably enough to mess with. I am just using 2 gb SD memory cards and USB flash drives. But, for the price, the display is bright, clear, with good control over the display and photos.Omnitech seems to be a [...] brand name and I expect any warranty issues to be resolved by [...]Probably any issues beyond the 1 year would result is discarding the unit and replacing it what will likely be a better, lower priced unit at that time.
I usually don’t write review but, after reading the reviews I thought I will write one.
Slide Show Freeze: This frame has limitation for slideshow, I did trial & error, and it takes about 700 pictures per card to do the slideshow. If you put more than 700 pictures in one card it will freeze in slide show. Here is how you can do, use Optipix pro, optimize your pictures and put about 700 pic or less per card (SD, CF, USB, Internal memory etc). It should work fine for slide show. So, 6 inputs mean you can put 4200 pictures (700 per input) in the frame.
Full screen picture: If you want pictures to show full screen, go to Image in the set up and use optimal. Basically this frame is widescreen and most of the photos are in standard 4:3.
No folder option: You can’t find your pictures in this frame through folders; it just make one folder for all pictures.
Warranty: This frame has one year warranty which is plus, most of the frame out there gives you 90 days.
Overall this frame is excellent, if you live with above problems.

At first, I was very satisfied with the picture frame: easy to setup, and decent picture quality. The large 11.3" screen is really satisfying.
However, I was very disappointed to find out that it cannot show more than about 100MB of pictures. No matter if you try to place them in the internal memory or within an inserted flash card. Always, when you hit a certain capacity, the slideshow won't work. That's really bad, as 100MB is very low. Even the 128MB internal memory can hold more than this...
I am waiting for an update ofthe slideshow software, till then I am still disappointed and consider returning the product. (If I could just find a competing product that offers that large frame size...)

I ran into the same problem as some of the reviews. I inserted a 2 GB SD card with just over a GB filled with 899 pictures. The system could not read the SD card and locked on one of the pictures. I reduced the size to 415 MB (trial and error) and found the max value. Does anyone have the email/web address or a way to get ahold of the company. I cannot get through to support and voicemail is always full.
Overall the picture quality is great, but if it cannot read the files, it does meet the underlying need. I am considering returning the frame.

Tried for hours to show large number of slides... Unit freezes.
Tried for hours to find usable AVI format... No acceptable format ever found
Tried to find on-line support, updates, FAQs, etc to help solve problems... Nothing here either.

Well, overall good price, decent product... This screens resolution is 800x480, should be at least 800x600... This screen is refurbished, you must look closely at the box to realize this. Also, this screen will not play mp3, only WMA files without DRM... Picture quality is good but could be a whole lot better... Again, for the price a decent balance between price and quality...
I have never had a digital frame before, but this one exceeded my expectations. The 11.3" wide screen is very nice and the picture quality is fine for casual viewing of snapshots. The screen is big enough to be easily seen from across the room. It has a permanent place on the end table in my living room.
The interface is a little clunky, but if all you want to do is insert a memory card and enjoy a slideshow then it works fine. You only need to set it up once to do this, and it will only take 5 minutes to learn everything you need to know.

The last review was so off the mark.I bought 2 at the BF sale. Frame is 800x480 resolution, includes 128 MB internal memory, supports all memory cards and USB stick memory. Plays MP3s and video, but I haven't tried that yet. Has remote control, USB cable and AC plug. Internal memory includes software that can be loaded on your PC to manipulate pictures, but is not really necessary. Menus/external buttons a bit primitive, better to use remote. Still trying to remove 39MB software program that is installed on 128 internal memory, I emailed tech support. [@] I consider it a great value for a 11.4" screen.

Got it on BF and used it right away. Did not notice the screen was refurbished until someone pointed out. The image quality acutally is not bad. I believe it is 800 x 480. The problem is the slide show does not work if you have more than 150 pictures (even downsized) in the card. Also the slide show is very slow with muisc and sometime stops. It does not play video (avi) at all as claimed on the box.

Been looking at digital frames for a while and was focused on price. At [$] this was the best frame value I could find for an 11.3" screen. I was able to test it out - it seems it does what was advertised - the menu options were a bit clunky but usable. There have been reports on the web that there were limitations with this model with reading large numbers of pics on a memory card - I loaded up 1.5 GIG on a 4GIG flashdrive and mine worked fine. It does have some options to slow down the slideshow and show one pix at a time. My only real issue is that the screen resolution is a bit low. Colors bleed and are not true. Don't buy this if you want this for a desk (close up) but works well from a distance (4' +)
