Best of the lower priced routers.
Average range, above average performance.
Never needs reboot. D-Link, Belkin and Cisco need to be rebooted from time to time, this one never. Pay the extra couple bucks and save headaches. I did not buy the max range matching card, reaches my neighbors house with standard G without trouble.

Access blocking used IP addresses which were constantly changing. User interface was busy alot of the time and wouldnt allow changes to be made to setup.
The router worked well but I could not block the kids XBOX live. Contacted netgear support about this concern and they never got back to me.
I spent alot of time reading reviews before buying this router, it was rated very high, but as far as tailoring youre setup, for me anyways, Linksys is far better.
I returned the router and replaced it with a Linksys 310n, we use mixed b and g, and am very impressed. Check out the reviews.

This is my third Netgear from Staples. All have the same problem - occasionally drop connections and need a reboot (my cheap Linksys units never have this problem). I have talked with Netgear tech support and they acknowledge they get this complaint a lot.[...]Bottom line, it looks great and is cheap, but it's frustratingly undependable. The cheapest Linksys may be ugly, but it is much more dependable.

Cons:
Poor management func
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

This router has many problems:
- managing it via the browser interface has EXTREMELY slow response time
- time based client filtering (e.g. disable certain IP address(s) from accessing the internet) is EXTREMELY weak. You can only set ONE schedule.
- client filtering did not prevent XBOX360 (which uses UDP) from accessing the internet (i.e. connect to XBOX Live)
- could not figure out how to set DHCP lease time (if it's even possible)
- DHCP client list was not able to show the host names of most of the clients.
Prior to getting this product, I had been using a Microsoft MN500, which properly handled all the above missing/poor functionality. After I returned this router, I purchased a Belkin F5D9230-4, which also handled all the above functionality very well.
I would highly recommend this router.

I have 3 computers connected to the router, & they all receive a strong signal.

I purchased this router to replace my existing router that was not compatiable with Vista. It's my first Netgear product. The set-up with Vista was not fun at all!!! I tried installing the router several times and gave up, my husband then tried and ended up calling customer service! After about 45 minutes on the phone we were up and running!! Since then this router is great! The coverage is far reaching. It's very secure. Connection has never failed-even when I venture outside to sit on the patio! Overall, I would have to say once it's installed you'll love this router!!

The documentation could be better when using this product with other like products (multiple RangeMax routers and RangeMax access points) in a large home network; What would be especially great is a network design and configuration widget where you put in how many of each product you are using and the widget comes back with a connection and settings diagram.
All the RangeMax products I have installed for customers have worked flawlessly out of the box and continue to provide great service for the users.

Long range signal. This router is much better than my Draft N router. It always connected at an acceptable speed. I live in a tri-level house. And it is set up on the highest floor.I can use my laptop on the lowest floor and it never shows up a weak signal.Remember each of us is living in a different surrouding. So the best suggestion is to try it on your own.Maybe it is good or work for me but not good for you. So take it home and try it out first.

I should have replaced my Linksys with another Linksys. Not only is it very difficult to set up, customer service is only available for a very short time where as Linksys has lifetime customer service. Do not put this unit in a room where the lights can be seen. It lights up like an UFO and very bright. Let's just say we do not have to have a nightlight in the hall anymore, and this is actually in a spare bedroom.
ALSO - CANNOT SHUT BEDROOM DOOR WHERE ROUTER IS LOCATED AND STILL GET WIRELESS CONNECTION LESS THAN 15' AWAY.

I use this to get my laptop to have wireless internet access. This product was very difficult to set up. The instructions seem easy, but they are not explained properly. It took me hours to get this set up. We almost had to return it open box. They provide tech support for the first couple of months of purchase, but you must register the product first. Since I was thinking of returing it, I did not want to register it. Finally, I was able to get it to work on my own and it has worked fine since. I have a fast internet connection and I never lose my connection. However, I am using the laptop in a 900 sq ft apartment, so I don't know if I would lose it if I was further away. I was able to set up security with guidance from an IT friend. I don't know that I would have been able to without his help.
