    I've used these hooks both at home and in my classroom. At home, they hold heavy bath sheets in the bathroom. In the classroom, they hold winter coats, clip boards, brooms & mops, and bags of playground equipment. They're easy to install and stay put on cinderblock walls. They're even easier to remove in order to reposition should the need arise. I absolutely love the ease with which I can now hang things without having to hammer cement nails!

    We purchased this item to hang our shower spray cleaner in our bathroom. We had done this at our previous house that had marble-type walls and it worked great. At our new home, the walls are pretty glossy and the hanger only stayed up two days. This happened twice. We purchased the heavy duty hook to hold the weight, but it was the adhesive that failed.

    Other than this incident, I love these hooks. I use them every year at Christmas to hang stockings on the fireplace mantle. I also have them installed in the kitchen pantry to hold potholders and aprons.

    When we arrive at a condo one of my first tasks is to place one 3M Command wall hooks on each side of the kitchen sink, and one in each shower (4 total). These have never failed to please us, as did earlier attempts using suction cup hooks. In addition, their easy removal pleases us, and they never leave a mark on the surface! Even in the challenging environment of hot water, shampoo, and soap of a shower they have never failed.

    In our new home I recently needed a non-metallic hook in a shower. Instinctively, I chose a 3M Command wall hook, and am pleased I did. They look great, too!

            According to 3M, these products are not recommended for outdoor use. Any hook with a blue adhesive would be appropriate for outdoor use. Unfortunately, it does not appear that we stock these products at this time.             It is recommended to use these on smooth surface. If you are planning to mount this to cinder block it can adhere as long as that is painted.

            It will most likley handle your coffee mug with ease, as long as its under three pounds in weight. The hook hanger should be able to fit any standard size coffee mug and even a few larger ones. The price is good and your local Staple store will let you return it if things don't work out.
