                      These markers are made of polypropylene - a plastic material, not felt tip.

                      I had the same question, so I called Crayola. They told me that all of their washable markers use a porous plastic tip. I was unable to locate a felt tip washable marker. It seems that most manufacturers have gone to this less expensive tip.
