Great Product for the money.

This camera has the same capability and more of other cameras that cost $500 and up. I have used several different models of IP Cameras from $150 to $1500. They all have their difficulties. Research is your best tech support. Dlink Forums for example. This camera has several issues and quirks, but quick research on Dlink Forums and Google to find a solution. Firmware upgrade fixed it. Tech Support is a weak point today for many products. I can view this camera from my Android or Iphone using the Dlink app or better yet (IP Camera Viewer App (Android Version). I set up three of these cameras for a friend in their retail store and we caught the employee that was stealing in two days. Awesome Product for the money! I don't like the plastic ball and socket, but it should hold up over time. The camera will be stationary. I used the stand to tighten the joint once in position. Lot's of uses.

Cheaply made - plastic ball socket

As a current owner of several of the DCS-932L cameras I thought this newer version would be an improvement. However, the ball socket that allows for the tilting and pivot of the camera is made of pastic. Previous versions of the camera use metal. The downgrade to plastic prevents the camera from locking into a suitable position. The weight of the ethernet cable instantly tilts the camera out of alignment because of the plastic ball socket and the inability to lock in a precise angle.

D-Link has terrible tech. support no one was able to help resolve my problem. Not compatible with IE 9 or Foxfire 12.0. This product is worthless and I would not recommend it.

This is potentially a great product. Tech that I contacted seems to have less knowledge than me. They do not seem to have a clue and sometimes evasive. I Was about to return the product to the store, then I tried by myself & get it to work--I wish tech supp could have helped. The packaging seems simple but you have to be a tech person to configure, if you need to get alerts on your e-mail, etc. I will need to take a course in networking before attempting the rest of what I need this camera to do. I will recommend this product to guys who know tech stuff. Other that that it is a wonderful piece of work. First time using DLink product and I am not impressed with its support team.

It's out 1st experience w/ a surveillance camera. It was difficult to set up - we had to hire a tech person to do it. Does not have a friendly manual.

Amazing gear for little $$

Based on other reviews, I thought this would be awful, but the specs were right, so I gave it a try. I buy a lot of tech for my company, but this was to keep an eye on my house at nite. For [$] this thing is amazing. Wireless, works with iTouch, remote computers, and the IR performance, for me, is great. It required a firmware update (automatic), but I only had to be patient. Installed using a Mac Mini.

OK, this is a very cool product. I have purchased and setup two of these to help monitor my home. I just want to document a few of the issues I ran into.

1) Both of the cameras I bought appear to have been used. They were in perfect shape, but I could tell they were unpackaged before. Also, the password on each camera had been set, so I had to do a hard reset to get past the password screen.
2) The camera didn't recognize my 8GB SD card until I did a reformat "twice". After that works perfectly. There is a reformat option on the setup screen.
3) The operating temp. range won't let you put the camera outside. I wanted to have one view my front driveway, so had to put it in a window. In night mode, the infrared just reflects off the glass. I had to turn off night mode and I plan to put an IR source outside to light my driveway.
4) I still don't have it working to view from a computer outside my network. BTW, I have degree in Computer Science and over 20 yrs in the industry. I'm sure I'll get it working, but it's not simple.
5) When I view the cameras live from my home PC my wireless network gets super slow. As soon as I close the live viewing, the wireless performance goes back to normal.
6) The mounting ball joint is loose, so it's hard to keep the camera pointing where you want it.
