Easy to use; compact; sturdy. Great buy

Screen expands to varied sizes. That's a huge plus. Although somewhat heavy, it's reasonable for its size.

This is a nice little screen that is built well and seems to be made out of quality materials. There are two things that keep it from being great...1) there is no height adjustment to make it taller, so if you set it up behind a table, it doesn't extend high enough to see it all. 2)when fully extended (widescreen) there is a slight sag in the middle of the screen. It would be nice if there were some sort of clip or holding mechanism at the top to hold the screen taught. It would deliver a better image that way. All in all, a nice screen, and it rolls into itself for transporting! Nice feature.

Comments about Epson Duet 80" Diagonal Portable Tripod Projector Screen:

This is a nice, compact projector screen. It has a durable plastic case. It is a little heavy though, but the carrying handle makes it very easy to transport. It is a good value for the price. It cost less than $150. My only complaint is that there is no support for the top edge of the screen. When you fully extended to its wide format length, the top edge curls a bit and sags. I only use the normal projection size and find it very functional. I really like the way everything folds into itself and fits together to make it compact. However, when set up, its legs take up a lot of room and it can become a little top heavy and wobbly. Haven't had any problems so far, though. Just make sure you have enough room to accommodate the legs of the stand and don't let anyone bump it.

This screen is really amazing, it it easy to setup and close down. I find it a little heavy for me, but I think other people will find the weight just fine. The quality is great, the size is just right, the brightness is excellent. I highly recommend it.

What is the diameter of the pole and pole socket on the back of the screen?
Asked on 11/16/2011 by CornDawg from Granville, IL

            1 answer

            • A:

I purchased an Epson Duet screen from Staples in Peru, IL today after confirming the pole and socket are 1.375" (1-3/8") diameter. This was important to me because tripod stands for pro audio sound reinforcement speakers are typically 1.375" or 1.5" diameter, to fit a socket at the base of P.A. speakers. The light weight stands made by On Stage are inexpensive and sold individually, are 1.375" diameter, and provide for height adjustment from 42" to 71" allowing the screen to be above the crowd for greater visibility. You simply need to insert a clevis pin through the upright tube to hold up the screen, as the pole on the speaker stand does not have the black self-aligning stop that the Epson stand has.

When closed, the screen is 9 inches wide. Expanded, it can be adjusted to 61¾ inches for an aspect ratio of 4:3 or 79½ inches for an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Without the stand the height is 42½ inches and with the stand it’s 76¼ inches. From Epson technical specifications/FAQs

I believe it is 85 inches. Viewing of 65 inches non wide screen, 80 in widescreen. For our purposes, it is plenty big enough.

            • A:

Does not have a separate case, but when folded, the hard plastic sides join to form a protective case. I like this better as you don't have an extra part to keep up with. The stand folds and locks into the case to provide a fairly compact unit. Also, the built-in carry handles seem very likely to last for a long time.

The unit essentially has a built-in case. The legs fold down and slide into the back of the screen case. There is a lock that holds them in. The screen is completely enclosed in the hard outer case, so everything is protected.
