As a book editor for 28 years--and that's a crazy-lot-of writing!--I have been using Col-Erase Carmine Red pencils for 28 years. They are the best quality and the Carmine Red actually IS red, unlike so many brands that claim they are, but actually are orange-y.

Highly recommended.

I got this pencil to mark my scriptures, which has the thin, show-through pages. This pencil is NOT preferred. It is too hard to get any color to go on the pages and it tends to rip them. Very pale color, 'Crimson'. I prefer the Dixon Ticonderoga pencil.
