As a professional wedding photographer, we produce custom wedding sign-in books with photographs from the couple's engagement shoot. The standard sign-in book pen you get from the bridal shops do not write on all types of paper. We have found the Sharpie brand markers are the best. They don't smear or run and our brides love the variety of available colors to compliment their wedding colors.

I use these pens nearly every day. Mainly I use them to write checks (the ink bonds to the paper), and to sign letters/memos. I like the vast color choice one gets, which makes it easier to work on graphs / charts or drawings.

I read a lot of instructions and need to remember what they were. Color coding allows me to find each category easier. I simply show each category on a page with a colored star for each. Then when I need to find that category, it's got a reference star. Works better also for reading material. Rather than using a wide highlighter, I underline the important words to help me remember. I also like them for my DVD disks to color code separate subjects on the disk. I put them out of site when my grown kids come. If I don't they are going to disappear.
