I bought these headphones for the office. I just wanted to listen to simple webcasts/podcasts, nothing that would be of exceptional recorded quality. So I thought a cheap pair of headphones would be good for me. These headphones are cheap, and they don't work. Maybe I just got a dud, but I can't use these because everytime I move the sound cuts out. If I just swivel in my chair, reach across my desk, or use my mouse the sound breaks up. Often I have to pick up the cord and jiggle it to get the sound back. These have to be a dud, because I can't see how others could get headphones like this and be happy or even OK with them. Also yes I think the cord is too short, even for just sitting at my desk and trying to do office work.Oh, and the final Con: when the product shipped in to my office someone else opened them and discared all the packaging and paper work. So I know I cannot return them. So being out the [$] makes it just a little more sucky.

      The Sony MDR-ZX100 is an excellent choice in this price range ($25-$35). The ear phones surround you with clear, warm sounding voice and music with good stereo separation. The headset is light weight and the cushioned ear phones sit snugly on ones ears. I feel the spring clip adds a bit too much tension on the ears, making it uncomfortable to listen during sessions lasting more than2 hrs. Not a show stopper, but kept me from awarding a 5 star rating. Overall, a good value.
