A:
Southworth paper grades 100% Cotton and 25% Cotton should not smudge if you are using the correct printer setting and your printer is maintained properly. Cotton fiber paper has a higher density that wood fiber papers and it takes more heat from the printer to do this. What you see as a smudge may be toner that is not cured enough tracking in the printer and rubbing off the page. I can only guess that you have a laser printer and it sounds like the toner is not being heated enough to melt into the paper.
To clean up the printer first run some cleaning pages through.
For the document you want to print go to FILE in the top left hand corner.
In the drop down menu go to PRINT
Click on SETTINGS
Go to MEDIA TYPE
Look for a choice of "BOND", "THICK" or "HEAVY"
Go to "OK" and print the page.
This should give you a clean print no smudges. If this does not work call me or email me with your phone number and a convenient time for me to contact you. I hope I have helped you.
