The plain brown cover is perfect for artwork and collage. Then I gift the decorated journal to friends. I also use the books at work for taking notes. I love the fact that they are made with something other than trees!

These inexpensive composition books with extremely thin paper would appear to be useless, especially when using a fountain pen. However, that is not the case at all. I am shocked at how well these work - significantly better than "notebooks" costing ten times the price. These have become my journal, my notebook, replacing everything I used in the past. Well worth the price. I'll note that the pages are not designed to be removed, if that is of importance. The sewn in pages allow the composition book to be opened flat and folded back over itself. Amazing paper and a great value.
