I used to use only EcoNotes, but I found these at Staples and like the covers more. I wish it came in a 5 subject, which would be more convenient and also more eco-friendly. The are comparable to EcoNotes and of better quality than regular paper only notebooks. The front and back covers are hard not flimsy so they are easy to write in even if you don't have a table or desk. They have 2 pockets at the front which is not usually found in notebooks without plastic like the 5Stars. For children or those who like to decorate for their subjects these are awesome, because if you get the plain cover (or any) the surface is excellent for writing and decor with pens, markers, crayons, etc. I've been using these for about 6 months now, and I am very satisfied and only wish it came in a 3 or 5 subject.

i am a fountain pen freak. my life revolves around them. ive been searching for some really nice paper for my waterman, and i read about this and went to staples the folowing day. OMG! pure writing heaven! this paper is so smooth!

I have not been able to find a notebook that I liked for my classes and that has also been able to be used in a professional setting. I abuse the folders in the front of the notebook and they have not seperated from the spiral binding or split from the overuse. This is the first notebook that has lasted me an entire semester without problems. I strongly recommend the use of this notebook for school and especially in a college setting when you're carrying your books and notebooks everywhere with you.

This paper is relatively thin, but that doesn't stop it from being great. I like to use fountain pens, and this paper barely feathers at all. And, even though the paper is thin, bleeding is minimal as well... all around great stuff! Too bad they stopped selling the filler paper version of this...

I like to think of myself as an eco-conscious student and when I saw these notebooks I had to give them a shot.

They are visually appealing with a back-to-basics, clean look with no glitter or frills. What's more is that it allows customization with stickers or doodles all over the cover - and I really dig that. I have noticed that some cooler green-striped patterns have shown up on the smaller notebooks and I'd like to see them on the 8 1/2 x 11's.

Overall, I've been very impressed with the performance. It withstands the rigors of being toted everywhere, has a writing surface that's great with ball-point pens, gel pens and pencils; ink doesn't bleed through the pages like many other notebooks will allow. I think the more subtle brown lines are really cool and I haven't had any negative professor comments on it (really, as long as it's written in blue or black ink, they don't seem to care about the line colors). The pages are super easy to remove and with the pre-punched holes, makes them easy to catalog in a binder for later. You're really getting a great bang for your buck with these!!

However, my ONE criticism: these really need to come in a MULTI-SUBJECT. I don't want to have to lug around a different notebook for each class; it's lame. Make a multi-subject (3, or even better, a 5-subject) and I'm all over it!

This product was my number 1 back to school buy. I play school sports so I am constantly without a hard surface to lean against while doing homework. The hard covers on this notebook help me get more done at games while still having nice penmanship. The only downside to this product was that the lined paper inside is not the traditional blue color, but instead an amber. Some teachers have made slight grievences about it, but its definetly not enough of a problem that i would consider returning them.
