This item is GREAT! So great that I bought 2 of them. They are the best thing for moistening envelopes, much better than all that licking and then having that nasty adhesive taste in your mouth. What more can I say? WOW! Man, you have got to get yourself one of these things RIGHT NOW! Turn off your computer, get dressed, and drive to your nearest Staples store for one of these time-saving devices. You won't regret it! You can seal all your envelopes lickity-split!

The pads wear out quickly and are not replaceable, even though they could be. The plastic bottles are not marked as recyclable. It would make more sense to be able to reuse the bottles, which don't wear out, and just buy new sponge tops.

      Purchased this for our small office as I was getting tired of licking the bad tasting Staples envelopes. Came across this moistener on the Staples site and figured for the price I couldn't go wrong. The moistener is easy to fill but impossible to regulate. You either get no water or way too much. The envelopes end up wrinkling from too much water and have to be taped shut.
      I am back to licking envelopes and this moistener just sits on my desk as a reminder that you get what you paid for.

      This product is a good value. Using water or a sealer works great in this. As I said above, the yellow top shreds after a while so we have to throw out the whole bottle (which I feel is a waste). I wish we could replace the yellow top. That would make it an even better product & I would give it 5 stars.

            I am allergic to latex. Some adhesives, such as those on envelope flaps, contain latex. Since I cannot determine which do and which do not contain latex, I have to avoid contact with all adhesives. Staples Envelope Moistener allows me to moisten and seal the flaps without actually touching them.

                It is plastic with a sponge top. The item should not be placed near your mouth as you just put water in it and run it across the envelope seal.

                It’s made with plastic and has a small sponge on the top. You fill it with water and it moistens the sponge allowing you to seal water activated glue… like those nasty envelopes that you use to want to lick as a kid. I use it for water activated paper tape and it works fine. Now, can you swallow it? I don’t think its small enough to swallow… But, I can imagine a small child chewing on it and having the sponge get in its mouth and that could be swallowed or the water that you filled it with could be swallowed…. I don’t see how it could harm you other than a choking hazard, but I’m not a doctor. And think that if you’re worried about a toddler swallowing this you need to keep a better eye on them because they can swallow ANYTHING…
