As a busy working musician, I used to lug doxens of HEAVY music song books to my performances. Now, I simply cut out only the music pages of songs that I perform from each thick music book, trim the page and slide the sheet music into the Staples Heavy-Duty Sheet protector...and place only those songs into individual 3-ring binders...and label each 3-ring binder by type of music, i.e., Christmas Songs, Wedding Songs, Romantic Songs, Most-Requested Songs, etc. Then I type an alphabetical "Contents" page for each 3-ring binder and place the Contents Page in the front of each 3-ring binder. Now I can quickly find and perform any requested melodies...without my sheet music becoming dog-eared, torn or stained. I recommend Staples Heavy-Duty Sheet Protectors to anyone who wants to organize and protect selected printed pages that will fit into these protectr sheets.

Upon opening the box and inserting a few pages into the plastic (fairly easy to do, no problems there) I recall wondering just what the thickness of the plastic actually was. I wanted long-term document protection for frequently used papers. Upon measuring the thickness, I found it to be in no case thicker than 3.2 mils, and more usually 3.0 to 3.1.Okay, that's nit-picking, you say, and I wouldn't have said anything and would have bought them anyway if they had been advertised as being 3.1 mils, but they weren't. They are, on average, slightly less than 10 percent thinner than they should be. [...]
Comments about Staples® Heavy-Duty Sheet Protectors:
I ended up having to purchase the heavy weight sheet protectors when I really didn't need this quality. However, the medium weight sheet protectors I had originally purchased (and exchanged) did not allow an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of paper to fit inside them smoothly. The Medium weight sheets are misrepresented as fitting 8-1/2 x 11 sheets -- because they just don't fit in them. Staples really should fix this problem. It is really unfair to the customer.
